Just a 🀏 too late! ⏰❌

Nashville Predators Jonathan Marchessault thought he had the buzzer-beater to tie the game 3-3 against the St. Louis Blues, but after review, the puck crossed the line just tenths of a second too late. With the heartbreaking loss, the Predators are officially eliminated from playoff contention, while the Blues extend their winning streak to eight games.

  1. I’m a fan of neither of these teams. Just wondering: do fans actually like this rule? It’s always bugged me. In the NBA, the ball just needs to leave the player’s hands in order to count after the buzzer. In the NHL, wouldn’t it be better if the puck just needed to leave the player’s stick in order to count? As long as no one but the goalie touches the puck after the buzzer, I feel it should count if it goes in. But I’m interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

  2. Delicious heartbreak for the Predators. Giving up two goals so quickly in the 3rd period and being eliminated from the playoffs by the red hot Blues.
