  1. People have brought up that Necas hasn't had the best PPG in the playoffs but I'd like to think some of that stems from 1. Carolina never has had a true superstar for someone like Necas to play with and 2. Rod Brind'amour's system was not tailored to help Necas excel and succeed, especially since his TOI was always around 17 minutes compared to 22 TOI here in Colorado. Do I expect a few less than ideal games from Necas come playoffs? Yeah it'll probably happen but I think as a player this is his best situation he's been in his career and he'll provide the scoring needed more often than not.

  2. another thing, Marty just turned 26. This guy has so much potential and he already has 26G and 80 points on the season. If you look up the NHL states, he has the same line as Sidney Crosby has this year. Both have 26 goals/54 assist/80 points. It's interesting that both Marty and Makar are 26 and both have contracts that expire after next season. Will and can the Avs get both of them locked up on a long term, 8 year deals? If they do so, the Avs fans have two of the best young players in the NHL for a long time to come.

  3. Looking forward to some matinee madness later today woop wooop

Great review and cannot disagree with the opening statement.

  4. Following the game, and mostly because of the 2nd period, it is easy to feel good. But…I rewatched the 1st period because I originally missed it and frankly, it was ugly. The Avs gave up some really good chances to LA. In an alternate universe, it could have been 2-0 or 3-0 Kings going into the 2nd. Luckily Blackwood made some saves and the Kings weren’t clinical. Watching the game as I did “in reverse”, I wasn’t as pumped as I was at first. The Avs have some things that they need to clean up before the playoffs!

  5. Since the trade in Jan, Necas has 23 points to Mikko’s 13. If the Avs win the cup, you know an ESPN 30/30 is coming on this trade.
