Ducks Complete Comeback With Overtime Win Over Rangers | New York Rangers

In a game where the Rangers never trailed in regulation, the Ducks were able to overcome two different two goal deficits in the 3rd period. The Ducks were able to get the game to overtime thanks to a Olen Zellweger goal as a Rangers power play was ending with only 1:45 left to play. Then in overtime Mason McTavish would secure the win for the Ducks. The Rangers finish their west coast swing against the Sharks in San Jose tomorrow night.

  1. The same we saw against the Senators. They just can't stand 60 minutes. It is all about physicality.
Please, discuss my plan about changes and development of the team. What we have now: 1)this team is no more a contender 2)there are some long and mid term big contracts of aged players 3)lack of high draft picks and top prospects 4)a group of good young players. Having all this now Rangers should develop this way: 1)develop all young players who are in the roster. First of all Laf, Cuylle, Rempe, Laba and Roobroeck – this group of grit players is the only chance to build the Cup winning team within this decade. They should play as much as they can. There are 3 years ahead until Zibanejad and JT Miller can't be traded or bought out. Perfect time to develop youth and get top draft picks 2)Mika and Chris should play in bottom on their positions. They are very good in defensive game. Kreider should end his career in New York. No trade. Vincent should be traded. He is an elite 3rd line center who is still in his prime. Every contender will be happy to get. Then Vincent gets a chance to win the Cup and Rangers get a very good compensation – Win/Win. If Artemiy is good next season, he should be offered a several years contract with 6-7 million salary cap. He will help to develop young players 3)If young players get maximum ice, results will fall down and Rangers will get high draft picks which will be later traded for ready to win players when the core group will be developed and their average age will be around 28(prime age for males) 4)It is necessary to create a line for Alexis and appoint him as a captain. If all this will be done I'm sure that in a 4-5 years we will have a team that really can win the Cup.

years we will have a team that really can win the Cup.

    P.S. Fire Drury!

  2. Blow a 2 goal lead with 6 minutes left!? Last year no quit this year all quit!!! It's time to bust this team up and get rid of another pathetic coach.

  3. One of the worst Rangers loss that I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen a lot(since 1970). Can’t wait for the next game against SJ to see the same 5 players on PP1😡Horrible.

  4. I'll be at the SJS-NYR game tomorrow. . . Might be a moot point. . . After this disaster.
This Anaheim game is the nail in the NYR's seasons coffin.

  5. At this point it really looks like they don't want to make the cut. Period!
It's a waste of time to try to make sense of all those losses by breaking down the play if you don't dig deeper, meaning what's wrong in the locker room.
I won't stay up to watch the game tomorrow, that I can tell you.
This Rangers team is one of the worst "talented" team in the history of the NHL.
Gallant was so right though. Talent is not enough.

  6. Johnny brazinski keep it North and South ..Adam Fox can you just ever shoot the damn puck ..this team drives me nuts ..pass after pass after pass after pass it's a disgrace you can't even work a five on three ..losing to young upstart teams ..two teams going to different ways as said by Dave Maloney on radio ..these guys are a joke !! Mika you are a total pussy

  7. Play and play with the puck …why is laffy and Miller on the ice with two minutes left
.their defense in transition is disgraceful and no offense but can Igor ever make a blocker save ..good gracious

  8. Definitely one of the most disgraceful losses in recent memory. It’s incredible how this team is still tied for a playoff birth with how abysmal they’ve once again been since that little 7-0-3 run in January. It’s hard to believe but tomorrow we have the pitiful San Jose Sharks. What do you guys think? Can we get the 2 points against a team with 20 wins in 71 games? Because I know it’s a lot to ask but if we do we can be right back in a playoff spot tomorrow. I do realize it’s fools gold, I just can’t even fathom how statistically this team still has a shot to be playing playoff home games at MSG in 2 weeks. In spite of the fact we’d get swept by the capitals, it feels like just playing a playoff game with the way this season has gone is a Stanley Cup Finals appearance

  9. “It’s just frustrating.” Really Mika? You think so? When is there going to be a captain who emerges to wake the team up? How about you Chris Kreider? The guy with a 52 goal season, 3rd all time in points, saved our season vs Carolina last year, he has the stats, tenure and big moments to claim that title, but he never shows the heart either. Panarin is a stat machine but has never been captain material. For a while I thought it’d be Trocheck, but he didn’t seize it either. Adam Fox, the former Norris Trophy winner who looked like the next Brian Leetch, can’t be bothered to say anything other than “we have to be better.” Where is the Mark Messier or Ryan Callahan to say “this was a disgrace, we’re embarrassed again, but we have 9 games left to figure it out, and we will. We have the sharks again tomorrow and I can assure you this team will be up at 5 am for practice and we will get the 2 points”. I guess those days are long gone. Laviolette looks like a beaten and resigned man. It’s an absolute miracle they’re still in this race and that had afforded him the dignity to finish the season just in case they sneak in, but you can expect a sweep and a whimper by the Caps and then it’s time to rebuild

  10. Can anybody explain why De Haan only played 3 games? in those games we went 2-0-1 and he was +4 and OT loss was against one of the best teams in NHL.

  11. Miller has no hockey sense whatsoever.
Can’t be coached, yet PL plays him more minutes!
Lose to the Sharks tomorrow and PL is toast.🔥

  12. I think it really comes down to this whole Rangers team just really needs to drink a large COFFEE before every game… I don't know what else to say!?

  13. When I think of Mercedes Benz I think of the Rangers. When I think of the Rangers, I think of a pile of dog sht. Who wants to be seen buying/driving a pile of dog sht…besides the pile of dog sht Rangers?? A giant, steamy, fresh pile of dog sht…and Mercedes-Benz. Partners.

  14. This team needs a vocal leader. Too soft and weak mentally. Passive and they dont get angry when they lose. That is telling that they don’t care.

  15. Cant wait for Othmann and Carrick showing effort and personally I would throw them on the PP. Put Berard out there too. Make a statement. Oh vets might get angry. You are supposed to earn ice time, not get ice time based on contract.

  16. I think at some point the league has to get involved in player contracts…. They have to be accountable for non performance!… This is hiring the league NHL… Needs to be able to impose financial penalties and it Sue players that give up our refuse to play.

  17. Flyers willing to fire their coach at this point yet we let Lavi stay. WTF are we doing here? Is everyone in on the joke that is this season? Way to do it for the fans

  18. Doesn’t make sense at all-John Giannone. Oh Johnny 🏒 don’t whole back at all as Sam Rosen is hanging his 🎙️ while John Giannone is recovering from prostate cancer

  19. Couldn’t stay up to the end, figured a 3-1 lead into the 3rd was safe. Total collapse like in Ottawa a few weeks ago. So many blown leads this season. How can you go from the Penthouse to the Outhouse so quickly?
