  1. I want to see more of Torts! He did say he was on his last coaching job but… he has a good voice, good opinions and he's honest, a good mirror to the journalists that only wants soundbytes. Hope he gets a TV job of some kind

  2. For all the woes that have befallen this Flyers team, and the potential hope that comes with youth and draft picks, there are still very much hampered by the fact that their captain's contract means that the salary cap doesn't rise for the organization this offseason.

  3. Scotty bowman couldn't coach this team any better. The goalies are cheeks and half the forwards should be in the ahl. You can try all you want but sometimes you just don't have the horses to win the race.

  4. If milk was a coach it would be Torts, when its good its great but the moment it starts to turn theres no going back

  5. Just like Chicago, Montreal and San Jose. Philadelphia has a very bright future, IF the man in charge does his job properly.

  6. Torts wasn't just on that list, he was far and away NUMBER ONE at the top of that list with almost 40% of the vote

  7. All we have is mich and TK in terms of high offensive skill and no one in the system that looks like a real first line player EMBARRASSING we need to suck for the next 2 years

  8. Flyers fan here. They've got a way to go. When your issues are goaltending and scoring its tough to win hockey games. They just need better players. Tired of "potential", "upside" & guys "in the system"

They were screwed by BAD contracts, so it sucks, but it's tough to get out of that, kinda have to wait it out and SUCK! This year would have been great if it was an incredible draft class, but no luck there either. The HAVE to get the right guy with that first pick, and he cant sit for 2 years in the minors.

My biggest fear is that theyre selling a future that never comes… And become the Sixers! 😂😂😂

  9. They could keep using the same players, same strategies but with different results simply by having a patient coach and not a noted volatile one who benches his best players for one off game.

  10. Do they use the draft picks that they have to make a trade? Or are those draft picks there for them to try to sign a RFA this season? With goaltending being an issue, why not try to offer sheet Oettinger (I know Dallas would just match it, but you never know). Or are those draft picks just prospects? Its clear they are trying to build the team around at least four goal scorers: TK, Tippett, Foerster, and Michkov. Luchanco is most likely a #2 center. I don't know if I want them to offer sheet Rossi (I know Minnesota would just match it). Either use the draft pick this year on a potential #1, or save the cap space for the possibility of signing McDavid. I see the Flyers wanting to be in Stanley Cup contention closer to 2030

  11. I think Torts time has passed. I love him as a coach, but his style is not conducive to the current way hockey is played. It's too bad because I think he can teach players many things they need to be successful, he just cannot reach the Gen Z players.

  12. I watched Flyers for close to 2 decades and gave up on them a LOOOONG time ago.
While they had Clarke to make major decisions, Flyers kept being a disaster that would never make it far into a playoffs. The dump-and-chase style hasn’t won anyone a cup in 40 years.
If you have stars, your stars get hurt from hitting opponents 82 games in a row . That’s just obvious to anyone except Bobbie Clarke.
So, this team has no good coaches and no young player development, no depth and are really bad at guessing good draft picks.

They also used to hate Russian players and they ran Bobrovsky out of town, he left and won best goalie Verzina next year, and a cup few years later.

Because Flyers are so bad at draft , they have 0 talent in the pipeline, and continue to overpay top guys who can actually play.
This creates a problem that, for instance, Sanheim skates 250 MILES per game. So if it’s a back to back game he’s dead and can’t skate 500 miles and not making it back to D on time.
You also tire all players if you continue rolling mostly top pairs in 82 games season.
So Flyers relied on owner/ Comcast deep pockets to hire top players. This of course worked before cap era and doesn’t work now.

The only way this Flyers org becomes competitive if they get lucky and win a draft lottery this year, and maybe also next year. Otherwise they aren’t making it and will be forever a Fringe playoffs team that always picks #12 and can’t make it.

  13. Flyers would be in much better spot as a franchise, if Hart didn"t turn out to be a horrible person 🙁
