  1. Teräväinen, Dickinson, Bertuzzi, Mikheyev, Veleno, and hopefully Donato will be the under 30ish veteran leadership group next year. They have all played well enough in middle 6 roles. Agree we can dream and sign at least 2 top line forwards. Hope for at least one. Draft one that won’t contribute for at least a year. We need to fill out the roster to help Bedard, Reichel, Nazar. Dach and Slaggert work hard but they are fringe 4th line or 13/14 roster forwards. We already traded from our surplus of D-men to get a goalie. What’s left is to weaponize our cap space, to get atop line guy through trade or FA without giving up any current player assets. Starting 1 July we can retain salary on a player in a three team trade to get a good top player from another team. And/Or take on a bad contract from another team in order to get a good player from them.
Or take a risk on a guy like Laine/ Nichushkin. Or disgruntled young player. Or overpaying an aging vet that had a good track record. (Patrick Kane; Tayler Hall) None of these last 3 are good options.

  2. Hey! Why were you so hard on Veleno in your last podcast? It DOES take time to gel with your teammates/linemates. Let's see how he finishes the season before you send him packing. It's not like is getting paid over $9 million to under achieve and pout….

  3. subscribed! Thanks Jack! I haven't missed a show in years. I usually listen on Spotify, but try to catch the youtube version when I can. Love what you do and it is so obvious you do your homework and put a lot of time and energy in to this. Keep up the awesome work!
