  1. The NHL has passed him by. He's rigid in his system and does not adjust on the fly or seem to adapt. There's a reason he's been let go by the Sabres once already, dallas, Rangers as an assistant, and New Jersey. When your head coach says he has no answers and the team is uncoachable, that says a lot about you. Not just the team

  2. Definitely want to see Coach Ruff if anyone cares on the Sabres it's definitely him. But Kevin Adams has to go. Terry is not going to fire his JUICEBOX BOY. Everyone knows he wouldn't dare hire an experienced GM. Reason being a experienced gm would tell him go grab a seat in the office and send him an email if he has suggestions. We'll enough said there.

  3. The problem with the coaching staff is the assistants are terrible. We need to go get some better assistants for Lindy. Jay McKey is an example of one of those Coaches they need.

  4. The Sabres need to be very careful with firing Adams of Lindy. The reason I say that is the team has a horrible reputation right now and unless they get an Experienced GM that also has cup rings on his finger they need to stick with Adams because having another first time GM will not help.
I also see Adams is capable of making a Hockey trade when there are teams to dance with. If Adams can look at Hockey trades with Byram and JJ for key pieces to make this roster better and pull those trades off. Then you get it done.
For example can you pull off a JJ for both Schneider, and Kreider?
Can you trade Byram and get another NHL player that can make an impact?
Also can you get lucky in the draft and get Porter Martone? Martone can play in the NHL next year and be a 20 goal player right off the bat.
If they can make the right moves this team can very easily be turned around. Also you have free Agency. Can you take a big swing and get Nikolaj Ehlers? Neal Pionk? Sam Bennett?
Again if you can get 3 or 4 of the right players on this time to insulate the younger players a bit more. This team can turn it around. Thing is you need to make real changes.

  5. Ruff sounded like he felt rejuvenated by the 600th Sabres HC win, had some pep in his talk while talking to reporters

  6. If you don't see the S&C Coach fired, don't count on these kids to bust ass in the gym on their own. This team has been weak and soft for 10 years!

  7. Ruff isn't the issue. It's his roster and asst coaches. Ruff doesn't control our INTERNAL CAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  8. Sabres need to bring in Tortorella
Sorry Ruff, youve lost your fire, youve mentioned it many times that youve calmed down of the years… Thats not how you coach young guys.

  9. I want lindy here to get it right. I just hope his voice in the room is strong enough to convince them not to run back the same exact staff and players.

  10. Keep Ruff as he isnt the problem . The problem is Adams didnt sign enough vets last summer as the Sabres are still the youngest team in the league. A second problem was there was pretty well no training camp since the team started the season in Europe . The third problem , and most glaring is D coach Marty Wilford who shouldve been fired when Granato was! See if ex Sabres D man Jay Mckee wants to make the jump from Brantford of the OHL to the NHL or see if ex Chicago and Ottawa coach Luke Richardson would be interested .
Also Pegula needs to get rid of the internal cap and spend closer to the cap. Go sign or trade this summers first round pick for a veteran D man this summer.
Lastly if Power still lives in Oakville in the off season then he needs to go see ex NHL player Gary Roberts who is now an elite strength coach .

  11. Based on the Recent embedded. It sounds like he will be back or at least wants to be back for at least 1 more season.

  12. In regards to adams health staff saying they are 100% comfortable with nurses injury. These were the same people who would not let Eichel get the surgery he wanted.

Sabres medical staff should be overhauled completely.

  13. Sabres Doctors are fools if they approved Norris health. He has already had a couple of shoulder sugeries which shouldve been a red flag. Shit , I didnt take Norris in my hockey pool because of his shoulder problems and the Sabres traded for him!

  14. The penguins will have a few more years of Crosby and malkin, tear it all down, rebuild and still be ahead of the Sabres 😂

  15. What i take from the conference , the GM & Coach are here to stay. The spending to the cap to acquire top six players won't happen. Sticking with the model of developing players remains on the roster & with that logic you're rebuilding every year. Clearing some need developing in junior or the AHL. And starting Riemer again clearly begs the question why wasn't he in a rotational schedule in relieving UPL as the season progressed?

  16. 1) Lindy is the coach if he wants to be. He's basically the team's only real draw, especially if they aren't going to be in anything other than the mode of hoping the East is really, really bad. Also, I see this team playing above .500 the rest of the way, jumping above these deadline tankjob teams (Flyers, Bruins, Pens), drafting 8th or 9th, declaring that they turned a corner, and making minimal changes.
    2) I still think Adams is staying since he just re-signed 3 guys. Or he's just reassigned to a different job.
    3) As to the fan questions, I think it's a little of both. I am sure they were screened, but there are definitely still people who seriously feel that this team is great and slipped on a banana peel for 13 games (and later 6 games).
    4) Hasn't this team bragged about its summertime strength and conditioning in the recent past?

  17. Two words…John Tortorella!

Hear me out. Not to coach, because I don’t think this group could handle Torts, but bring him in as GM!

He knows the game, he knows the players, he knows how to win, but more importantly, he makes hard decisions and doesn’t coddle ANYONE!

Not only did he start his NHL Coaching career as an Assistant with Buffalo, but If he could be convinced after how and why the Flyers fired him that his coaching days in this NHL are over, I think he’d be the smart, cold and calculated GM we need!
