Nikolaj Ehlers scored the overtime winner to lift the Jets (49-19-4, 102 points) past the League-leading Capitals (47-15-9, 103 points) and cap a night where the Jets became the first Western Conference team to clinch a berth in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The 2024-25 season marked the first time that the Jets/Thrashers were the first team from their conference to clinch a postseason spot and the third time where they were the first from their division to do so (also 2018-19 as WPG & 2006-07 as ATL). Winnipeg (72 GP) required its fewest games in franchise history to secure a playoff spot during an 82-game season, eclipsing its previous best of 75 contests set in 2017-18 and matched in 2018-19.
The #stanleycup Playoffs start on April 19 on TNT, ESPN, Sportsnet and TVA Sports
