The thing about kasper too is that he was still a standout when Lalonde was coaching but lacked production. If you just take the McLellan games, his stats look much more impressive.
Red Wings – the real March Madness
For my pledge to the Jamie Daniels foundation, i will donate $500 for every goal JT Compher scores for the rest of the year. So im assuming I'll be donating nothing on that front lol. If he doesnt score any, i still pledge $50 lol.
Edit: Compher has now been stone walled on two incredible chances against the Caps today (March 18 2025) lol almost $1000 bucks just in the first period!

In 2022 if you were so say Marco Kasper would have more points than Shane Wright people would have laughed.
Appears the loss of Veleno is not even a factor nor loss of production. They should not have resigned him in 2024.

WINGS have always seemed to beat the teams they should lose to and lose to teams they should beat easily. So good things could come ahead.

They needed this game against VGK badly because over the past 10 games there's no other team in the entire NHL that has fewer points. What a bad time to suck.
Wings PK has been brutal. They stand like 4 pilons. Watch how aggressive Carolina play . That should be enough of a lesson. Move your FN feet Boys!!
I don't want Detroit to stumble into the playoffs because Ottawa beats up on Columbus. I would rather lose every game for the rest of the season and draft as high as possible. Then hopefully Yzerman makes some big moves this off season (Marner, anyone?). Come back in the fall, be better, and just plain earn your own way into the playoffs next spring.
Wings seem to play well when the pressure is off ! They are out of the playoff picture now so they win,, the time to win at least one game was the 2 game series against the Blue Jackets..

I kinda wonder like the question proposed if Detroit cant sign big money talent then what does Detroit fall back on except their prospects? Realistically they should've been able to keep up with Ottawa and I realize Detroit isn't able to give up too much in trade value but Ottawa isn't exactly a prime destination either. Management really has to step it up sooner rather than later somehow.
