  1. crazy how good he is at 18, you have to remind yourself because you watch these interviews and he has such a boyish innocence about him. Remarkable athlete, and person, seems like such a nice kid

  2. Great conversation Brodie. Still amazed he is only 18 and very intelligent about the game, what he knows and what he still needs to learn. We are seeing something very special with Macklin.

  3. The tablet is an extremely fast feedback loop and will only help accelerate learnings and team cohesion. 🤙

  4. It's interviews like these that make me wonder how in the hell Macklin's only 18. Fantastic first part of the interview, Brodie. Can't for Part 2!

  5. Hey Brodie,
Really fun conversation with Maclin. What a remarkable young man he is. His parents are to be commended for raising such a sharp, hard working, perceptive and deferential person. We are SOOOOoooooo lucky that we were able to draft him. I have no idea how he has been able to keep himself balanced considering the very bright light that is on him all the time now but, he seems to be navigating it pretty well and that is also remarkable.

I cannot imagine what Maclin is going to look like as a player in say 5 or 10 years but, the trajectory is almost vertical! Thanks for doing this Brodie and thank you Maclin.

It has been a pleasure and a wonder to watch you this season. Like Brodie I have been a Sharks fan since their first play off run (I think Brodie has been a fan longer than me actually but, both of us are long time fans) against Detroit all those years ago. I have seen the rise of the Sharks to greatness and the decline. In all that time I don't think we have ever had a player come in so detailed and good at pretty much all aspects of the game? The only person I can think of that comes close is Marc Eduard and he was only focused on one side of the game though like you on the defensive side from day one Marc was unflappable from his very first game defending.

The though that this is ground level minimum for you is stunning to me. You have exceeded my expectations by a mile man. I wish you all the success that you have worked so hard for a long time to achieve. I know you are frustrated and that is as it should be. Great athletes don't settle for anything but, winning so no worries man. I think the day is coming (sooner rather than later) when you will reap the rewards of all the hard work that you have put in just hang in there Maclin!
