The San Diego Gulls secured a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against the San Jose Barracuda at Pechanga Arena on Wednesday night. The game saw both teams trading goals early, with Lucas Vanroboys opening the scoring for San Jose before Roland McKeown responded for the Gulls in the first period. The back-and-forth battle continued into the second, as Ethan Cardwell put the Barracuda ahead again, only for Ryan Carpenter and Jan Myšák to strike back and give San Diego a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame. A late power-play goal from Pavol Regenda tied the game at three, forcing overtime. The extra period didn’t last long, as Carsen Twarynski buried the game-winner at 2:29, assisted by Yegor Sidorov and Stian Solberg. McKeown, who contributed a goal and an assist, earned the second star of the game, while Ian Moore’s two-assist night landed him the third star. With the win, the Gulls added another dramatic finish to their season, sending the home crowd into celebration.
