The Dallas Stars have some of the best prospects in the American Hockey League this season in Logan Stankoven and Mavrik Bourque, but where does the entire prospect pool rank. Joey takes a look at an article from The Athletic that ranked the Stars prospect pool 21st out of 32 teams. We look at individual players including Lian Bichel, Aram Minnietian and Christian Kyrou who are three young defensemen that have abilities and characteristics that the current Stars are lacking. We highlight some of those traits and how how important it is to his on some of these prospects since you more than likely plan to move off some players like Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell in the near future. The juicy part of the episode revolves around tonights game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes have been on a role lately and Joey explains the similar styles the Stars and Hurricanes like to play and why it makes such a fun match up. The first period will be a crucial one for Dallas who is coming off a three game road trip. Carolina has been outscored 26-21 in the first period on the road this season. Stars need a fast start and play with a lead in front of Jake Oettinger. The return of shooting star calls for the first time this player has been chosen. Roope Hintz has two points in his last five games. Going up against fellow countrymen Sebastian Aho, will spur on Hintz to a big night and hopefully a Stars win.

Tough team tonight. Stars will have a handful to deal with. Just a few thoughts
Need that post All-Star Otter to show up. If he cannot keep us in the game this one is a forgone conclusion.
Miro and Harley will need to keep momentum on the rush chances and if they get the looks they are going to score.
Defense as a whole has to keep pucks from getting behind them. If it means keeping slower defensemen parked at the blue line then so be it.
Not really a fan of going back to the "original" lines. Johnston on 1st line was great. Easy to forget about the youngblood when Robinson and Hintz are on the ice. On his original lines he has a lot more eyes on him.
If Steel is going to be 4th line play Delly for Smith. At some point have to embrace what we are. Below average defense and having two players who will charge into the offensive zone is preferable.
No dumb penalties. Too many penalties (especially in the 3rd) have neutered us in the past when playing from behind which is entirely likely this game.
This is a completely winnable game as I think if the Stars play at just 80% of their potential they can beat any team in the league. May need Carolina's goalie to not have a career game standing on his head but nothing much the Stars can do about that anyway.
Will be rocking the military appreciation Harley jersey tonight at AAC and it is 2-0 so pumping up the good ju-ju as much as possible.
