Face reality. The Wings can't make the playoffs with this current roster. The streakiness,.good or bad, just won't get us there. Why is it that the players who make the most on the Wings just aren't worth their price tag. Seider, Raymond, and Larkin should all take a salary cut. Enough said.
As much as i want the wings to make playoffs, this is not a playoff ready team. They havent shown they can compete at that level consistently, they havent shown they can even finish an entire game let alone a series. As upsetting as it is, we're still rebuilding for better or worse.
I must have attended a different game than the one you guys watched. Or maybe the camera added 20 lbs of effort. Flat. No physicality. Poor positioning. Squandered opportunities. Bad passes. No creativity. Brutal. Out classed. Out hustled. Soft on the puck. Sloppy out the zone. Sloppy in the zone. Watching not creating. Bad hockey.
Stockholm syndrome mixed with extremely low expectations. “The effort was there.” Wowsers boys that’s not what I saw.
Brian- the PK’s were good until the goals… are you serious? No presure. No movement. No active sticks. The four killers could have been replaced by pylons.
I'm still willing to give Yzerman a chance. But he has to fire his entire pro scouting team or the owner must make him do it.
It has been horrendous work, at best, at surrounding our best players, just a terrible job.
The Wings have no elite talent. Larkin looks to be exiting his prime, his numbers are way down this year. Mo and Ray aren’t as good as we had hoped they’d be. Ray is not capable of carrying a game, Mo is possibly the most overrated player in the league.

Larkin, Raymond and Seider feel kind of worn out over the last month. The ability to dominate and turn games around on their own isn't there any more. It is heartbreaking that this great team and club cannot climb to the next level with all that skill and wonderful hockey. (If only they hadn't give it away to Colombus and Ottawa, two inferior teams.)
This guy on here gives the wings credit for back checking when they get blown out 🙄 and give up 5 goals are you kidding me. All while these guys are making excuses for a terrible team with a terrible GM .
The Hull and Terrasanko signing was horrendous and anyone could predict they would be bad signings especially after Yzerman traded away Walman and a second round pick so right there that tells you Yzerman isn’t the best at scouting free agent talent. Every one of his signings have been a failure Yzerman has y hit after tge second round in his 6 years tenure. This team is lousy and it’s lousy because Yzerman is weak at drafting and signing physical players so he gets players that roll over and take it and locked on red wings make more excuses and act like no big deal good grief.
If the GM’s last name wasn’t Yzerman he would be fired in a 2 months.
Yzerman could have traded for a player like Arbur X of Montreal instead he signs dead weight like Holl

Brian, I suggest you leave the analytics behind after this season is over. You sound like Lalonde.
Unfortunately, we can't easily obtain any top talent, so we'll have to be patient bringing up players in the system… We have the cap space for Mitch Marner or some of the other top FAs, but it's unlikely they'd want to join a struggling rebuild without Yzerman overpaying.
I said it last time Cossa was called up, if you start Cossa it's only because you've decided Trey is the guy. This team as constructed will ruin him.

I'm super bitter after watching that game! This team has very few players that get physical, especially in front of their own net! You watch good teams challenge every time someone tries to enter their zone, and especially in front of their own net! The wings just let the other team skate into the zone as long as they stay to the outside. Nobody steps up on anyone!
I also remember when Larkin used to be fast, didn't he set an NHL record for fastest skater ever?
Way back when the Wings left the Western Conference, I said the Wings were not an Eastern Conference team. They're not a physical, grinding style team.

Solid enough game against a far superior team with something to play for. Would have been nice to get a win, but on the 2nd half of a back to back with Lyon starting both… I expected far worse.

Give Cossa a shot. Put him in most of the remaining games. Lyon had a decent night. I expected the Avs to blow this one out and didn't honestly. Wings needed to keep them off the PP. Wings just couldn't get much offense going either.

Haven’t watched yet, I will later. But I just had to say that Tarasenko should not be on the ice the remainder of the season. He’s actively hurting the team with his inability to control the puck. It’s been that way all season and just isn’t getting any better. I like the guy and it pains me to say it but he is straight garbage

With a decade of top draft picks, this team should be loaded. Instead, they are just a bunch of clowns pretending to be NHLers. Yzerjoke has done nothing to improve them to a playoff level, even new franchises are competing for Stanley Cups, The Wings are competing for jock strap cups.

You could tell by Nathan M's expression that he was not happy on how they scored off Moe's ass and a puck bounces luckily on his stick for a open net goals. Fluke is not good play. VT should of scored twice , maybe different came.
Why does it matter? wings are terrible 5×5, can only score on pp with nhl worst pk. No depth and too reliant on 4 guys to score with bad d and iffy goaltending. Just a horribly constructed team with too many bums like tarasenko etc. dragging wings down. With no chance to move up in lottery just go for top 10 pick-again.
Get marner off season, fire the joke Yzerman and his lackys, bring back Holland and get rid of Todd, bring back Babcock, we get some better D men, we got this. Trade Larkin, he just isn't captain ucy enough.

Only good news it all the other teams that needed to lose in regulation lost in regulation, so nothing happened standings-wise. That being said, this team just doesn't have it. Last year's team looked like they might be able to win 1 or 2 playoff games, but i am not too confident on this year.
