Paul Maurice Says Brad Marchand Close to Playing for Florida Panthers. Like, Real Close

Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice says Brad Marchand could be joining his team’s lineup in the coming days in his comments following practice in Fort Lauderdale on March 26, 2025.

Marchand, former captain of the Boston Bruins, has been out since a hit against the boards against the Penguins on March 1. He was traded to the Panthers on March 7.

Maurice said Marchand could play Friday against the Utah Hockey Club.

The Panthers trailed 3-1 before coming back in the second — winning it on a goal from captain Sasha Barkov.

Sunday, the Panthers beat the Penguins 4-3 in a shootout.

Sam Reinhart scored Florida’s first two goals on Sunday, with Anton Lundell tying it in the third.

Barkov got the only goal of the shootout, with Sergei Bobrovsky (24 saves) stopping all three Pittsburgh shots.

Florida is off until Friday when Utah comes to Sunrise.
