play Dobes thursday and Monte Friday let him rest but if Dobes gets a shutout play him again!
G'day Josh, that was a dog of a game. No jump or intensity detected. Should MSL have started Dobes? Probably. This was Monty's 4th consecutive start so maybe that's one too many before being rested. Ya gotta give props to the Blues. Thanks mate.
SKA treating demidov this way will solidify his decision to come to montreal and not resign in Russia. Welcome to Montréal Ivan.
Geez give blues credit, better team just as hot etc. be realistic, they wanted a mix/exciting,we're getting one, 🤷♂️
Goaltending stinks, caufield is lazy and savard is slow
can't win them all. at some point you get flat footed, now we have to come back
ugly game to watch.. def better kick philly's ass
Maybe they should practice a bit more, just saying.
I hope Michigan has an influx of quality players coming in because they were awful this year, a point a game on that team was impressive Hage’s line mates were mid.
The blues outplayed us terribly tonight no one and I mean no one played particularly well
Bring back Guhle, sit wifi and put Dobes in.
Guhle-Carrier pairing needs to come back! Hutson and Struble pairing +1 tonight despite the horrid score. On to Philly…
Relax everyone. The worst thing that could happen is the Habs have a better pick in the next draft. It is too early, it is not the Habs time yet, Demidov isn't even there yet
Bro. they still hold the second place no other team won yea
Rangers lost…so we kinda got a hall pass tonight. The cut off to make the playoffs is gonna be a lot less than recent years…somewhere around 90 pts…so Habs need about 15 points out of their remaining games…7-4-1 would do it,,,not easy, but doable…fingers crossed!!!
Everyone else in the east that’s important to the Habs, Lost!
I feel the same way. I got up at 2am to watch them play in another time zone and sheeesh that was brutal!
Only guys who showed up were Hutson, Struble, Caufield, Suzuki and Slaf. Newhook was meh.
Expos blue jersey means Jesse has some things to say.
Nothing during the game went right besides Suzuki continuing a point streak. If the team in front of the goalie plays poorly, there's no hope for the goalie to bail them out. Even during the radio broadcast, there was mention of the team body language indicated they were not in this game. Have to note that the Blues were 8-1-1 in last ten and the two Oilers prospects that Armstrong poached in the Oilers prominently wreak havoc during this game. It's pointless to bother with the stupidity of Roman the Rotten. Dynamo Minsk is the #2 seed in their division that #7 SKA St. Peterburg. Hopefully Minsk will wipe the floor with them to show SKA's foolishness. Rangers lost in regulation to the Kings, Sabres seem to have the Sens' number this season. Habs have to just get over this game and just start preparing the next series of games.
Hey at least Rangers lost right..? Right? 🙃
I believe their winning "wave" has now crashed, they were counting too much on their crowd to make comebacks happen like you said instead of playing well from the beginning. Monty had a bad day? It was 1-1 after 20 min, the Blues outshot Mtl by far, Monty somehow kept them in the game and then reality caught them back in 2nd.
Habs have a very tough next 5 games and actually might lose the next 5 games and kill their playoff chances.
They did not play physically or with speed. It was a team loss, not a Monty loss.
Other teams loosing in regulation actualy went our way though
Dobes is upon its knees soon. The forwards have already read it, it is leaky.
Montembeault is not the "guy". He's far too streaky. He'll have a good game then an absolute dumpster of a game.
Out coached again it's night and day watching Laval play and watching Hands play Laval is a better coached team it's night and day how much better they are coached
We were playing a team that is in the same position as the Habs, last wildcard spot and fighting to keep it. They also have Binnington who has been on fire since the 4 nations win, he got. Glad we got the loss out of the way and now we go back to winning. Keep the faith Habs fans! GO HABS GO!
PS: Don't take your anger out on Mitchell Stevens stick, it did not lose the game
🤣🤣
Now Ken Hughes knows what chairs need to be improved if Mtl are to be competitive againss't teams like the blues. size up and last night we saw it.. HABS GAVE UP TO NOW A BIG EFFORT TO STAY IN THE MIX all to there credit. but habs have not much gas left in the tank.Left a lot out there fighting hard to stay in the mix.
Not "De-me-dov." It's pronounced "Dem-eh-dov." The way you say it sounds silly to me. I haven't heard any other sports channel call him "De-me-dov." Please look into this. 😮
Monty was superb from the outset. The Blues could have had a 4-goal lead within the first 10 minutes!
Montreal : Philadelphia 4:2
Slafzilla 1+1
GO HABS GO
If the Habs lose to Philadelphia, they don't deserve to make the playoffs.
In defence of Habs, the Blues executed a perfect game plan, they were dominant in every zone. Montreal looked disorganized and very sloppy, they seemed mentally unprepared for this game, fatigue? Who knows but every team is tired, no excuses.
If he wants to be a number one goaltender. He would want to play the next game so that his teammates can prove that they can play better
I turned the game off when it became 4-1. I still had a bit of the little kid in me believing they'll come back. When I was a very young kid I would cover my eyes when what I was watching became too scary, but. I'd peek through my fingers to see when it was over. That's how I felt when I stopped watching the game. Besides that I wanted to sleep last night and watching this train wreck wasn't conducive to sleep. As for Demidov, I heard an interesting theory that maybe Roman RottenIceBurg lettuce head was holding Demidov out of games in the hope of getting something "under the table" from the Habs to release him early.
St.Louis Blues was the better team last night ! End of the story. Montreal were lucky enough to have score at least 1 goal. It was a total domination by the Blues, last night. Let's move on the next game against Philiy! In another words, it's another must win game.
Wings and Rangers both lost. Only good thing about last night.
Monty has shown through the years he is a streaky goaltender. He has hot and cold streaks and the last 4 games he has been in a cold streak
The big problem is that Marty St. Louis refuses to observe this FACT.
He won't pull his goalie during a game when even a blind man see the goalie went cold.
Marty needs to realize he can also be fired for being stubborn.
Primeau is a career AHL goalie and should have been shipped out instead of Allen.
Monty is a backup goalie and will never be anything more than that. No matter how much Management wishes he becomes a first stringer it just won't happen.
They need to seriously look for a qualified first string goaltender over the summer.
Monty and Dobes can fight it out for the backup job.
Competition will push each to improve their game. Monty doesn't seem to work on his game because he still makes himself small in the net since he refuses to come out to cut down the angle
Monty has never had a good glove and it especially shows on the soft goals he lets by. He still has problems with rebound control
If you notice Monty never makes a second effort to stop a shot, that's the sign of a lazy goalie.
Dobes also doesn't come out to cut down the angle that is telling me the goalie coach is not doing his job.
Think about it, Primeau won ONE game this year with a goals against average of about 5.
He was allowed to start something like 10 games until he was banished to the AHL in mid December.
Could Montreal have used at least half of the points they lost simply because Primeau has the skill set of a very late draft goaltender and doesn't belong in the NHL.
Look the guy has had 6 seasons to prove he can play in this league and his numbers are getting worse every year. It's time to move on.
He plays great in the AHL because everything is slower in that league and that is Primeau's speed.
This summer Montreal need to get a top 6 center and preferably one who speaks Russian to babysit Demidov during his first year or two.
Malkin would be a good fit.
I supported Kirby Dach because he does have talent but I am moving on from him simply because he reinjured that wonky knee.
I know a lot about knee injuries having had 7 surgeries done on my knees in my life.
Even with the surgery he had, his knee would only get back to a maximum of 80% of his healthy knee but now that was injured so you are probably looking at a player with "50% of a knee going forward.
It's a business, you move on and let Kirby discover for himself just how restrained he will be going forward.
The ass whippin this team needed to get them into pissed off to win mode heading into the final playoff push. I'd hate to be the team playing the blues as a wildcard team this year.. They looked like a truly well oiled machine out there tonight.
loved the energy in this video Josh ! Keep killin it !
savard , mathison , jackass all trying to block shots instead of being aggressive
