The Penguins will meet their old friend Jake Guentzel and a resurgent Tampa Bay Lightning team on Tuesday night in Florida. Patrick and Hunter get you ready for what should be an exciting game between two teams who have quite a shared history. Despite the Penguins’ struggles the past couple of seasons, they continue to play a great Tampa team very tough, and they get into how they can find a win down south. Then, Sidney Crosby continues to laugh at the aging curve. They break down some numbers that put into perspective how truly great the captain has been the past few seasons. Finally, the Penguins will have two more games this week, one in Buffalo and then back home against Ottawa. They quickly touch on what to expect in the week ahead.

Penguins are playing like they did at the end of the season last year
Rooting for: Rust to get his first 30 goal season; Sid with a shot at 100 points (if he stays red hot); Geno a 20 goal season.
I'm getting tired of seeing Mike Sullivan chewing gum on the bench.
Boko needs to stay. He brings energy and keeps the other teams honest
I have a feeling Sid will break the record tonight, he loves to play against the Lightning. Also, anyone who thought Jake was just a product of playing alongside Sid, never paid attention. We as Pens fans could tell this guy was a natural goal scorer when he came up as a rookie in 2016. I will say this, can you imagine if this was this year that the Pens traded Jake Guentzel at this year's deadline as opposed to last year, and what kind of a return they would've gotten? The return would've been nuts given how much of a seller's market it was this year.
Let’s go pens 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
A followup on the conversation yesterday about the conditional NYR first rounder. The conditions seem to be that the pick is definitely in 2025 if the Rangers finish in the top 19 overall, but if it is in the bottom 13 the Rangers have the option to either convey the 2025 pick to the Penguins, or to defer the pick to 2026, at which point it would be unprotected. If the season ended today the Rangers would have the 12th overall pick in 2025 (ignoring lottery possibilities). From a Penguins perspective that looks like a good return on the trade with Vancouver, but in a year when the first round is purported to be not particularly deep. So it would be interesting and maybe more attractive (from the Pens POV) to have the NYR first rounder in 2026 unprotected when the draft is deeper and has a major talent at the top.
My question is, how are the Rangers going to be thinking about this pick? Would they rather get it off the books this year and avoid the risk of not having their own first round pick in 2026, a year when they might be lousy and an off-the-charts talent is available to the lottery winner? Are they likely to convey the pick in 2025 even if the pick is in the 10-13 range? What say the Locked On Rangers folks?
Hope Sid's second point goes off Jake's butt
Guess where Jarry got his goalie goal
Do you guys know why Geno is out tonight?
Ouch,tonight,
Gotta love jake guentzel. Him, auston matthews and kyle conner are 3 best american players in nhl today. Jack hughes isnt far behind. Kucherov is the best russian player on the planet. Has been since his 3rd to 4th season in the league. No knock on ovechkin but kucherov has always been the more complete player. Reminds me of pavel datsyuk in certain ways. Vasilevskiy, shesterkin and hellebuyck are the best goaltenders in the league today. If i had to choose one for a 7 game series it would be Vasilevskiy everytime.
