The Habs Might Actually Do It…

The Montreal Canadiens were written off before the season even started, but now they’re fighting for a playoff spot. They’ve completely turned things around, but with the pressure building, can they keep it going?

  1. Omg thank you! I like that you recognized Montembault work. There's a lot of people who thinks he's a bad goalie just because of his bumpy season start. Everyone likes to show the easy out of context sv% stat every time there's this argument and people think that Dobes should be the number 1 just because of that even though he's clearly not ready for a major nhl workload yet.

  2. This is definitely a team to watch out for… not just this coming playoffs but in the next few seasons as well. If they do make the playoffs i pitty the team that battles them round 1. They are pesky as hell

  3. I think at the end of the day, every Montreal fan is just excited to see the team being competitive and playing meaningful games in March even if they are ahead of schedule.

  4. Add Demidov – Kapanen – Reinbacher – Fowler – Mailloux – Beck and Hage to that mix .. going to be scary for yrs to come

  5. If Montreal dont make it, ill still be happy, they made me believe and thats all a fan can ask for.

  6. any real hockey channel would see how vital Anderson, Arbs and the depth players have been the real difference. Now imagine if this stupid franchise drafted Michkov or Leonard to advance the rebuild instead of stupid Reinbacher lol

  7. Their second line is their Achilles heal. If they had a good second line center. Then they could be dangerous

  8. At the very least, I’ve got to say—the Habs are a fun and exciting team to watch. I’ve had the chance to see them play at the Bell Centre a few times, and I actually took the time to follow their games this season. I’m genuinely enjoying it. I’m hopeful that we might be entering a golden age for the team. Everything about the team is pretty good and positive right now. If they do not make the playoffs, I'll still be happy to see how they grew as a team this year.

  9. Personally I don’t see it, but if they keep it up while teams like CBJ, DET, NYI, and NYR continue to flail around then they just might be able to make it.

Only thing I’m concerned with about them is their tendency to be streaky and go on an extended losing run that could knock them out of contention while one of the teams they are fighting goes on a run. If they make it, good luck for the 2010 Rematch!

  10. This team is going to be a super pain in the ass, in other words, teams won't have an answer, they're going to be dominant, and they are going to 4 line wear teams down. The top line, as good, if not better than any top line in the NHL. They haven't sculped the final product on D. In goal, Sam will not be there in 2 years. As good as some metrics are, first goals, soft goals, they could do with less of those.

  11. Hopefully Slaf finds consistency. I think he responds more to the teams highs and lows instead of driving them compared to other guys on the teams like Suzuki and Hutson. Maybe a bit too in his head but he’s definitely improving overall

  12. Great video.

Laine coming back coincinding with the trade for Carrier was a season changing point.

The veterans playing key roles like Gally and Andy who to me have been the most consistent forwards all year is great to see.

They crashed a bit before 4 nations due to a grueling schedule but they are a tight room playing for each other, their coaches, the fans the city.

It’s an exciting playoff push to watch, they are a resilient bunch and are easy to get behind and cheer.

  13. What a year for my lovely sports teams. First my daddy Josh gives the bills a season 10x better than everybody thought we would have and after that my asian daddy suzuki and friends bring me back to 2021

  14. I still wish Montreal would have taken Tij iginla, I think he’s gonna be a great 2nd line centre with size and defensively minded forward

  15. Im glad someone else agrees defensively Montreal hasnt been good, way too may shots allowed, poor penalties.
We also let in weak goals, when you want a goalie to bail you out on, on some occasions
montembeault has improved, i think knowing the job is yours, with cayden in the AHL and the taste of winning gold brought him to another level.
Along with a few moves on the line and some young guys going up and down this team even without Dach is very rounded, and even shows glimpse of a number 2 center battle

injury bug hasnt helped this team all year, but
VS ottawa, toronto even florida, Montreal has matched up decently if not been better.

    This is a playoff team,
make it deep, laine will sign an extension, along with 11 mill in likely cap space,
deep run and Le Canadiens will be a desired signing spot to get over the hump, if this roster doesnt really over achieve and nicky and cole go win that cup for Carey with him still on LTIR

  16. experts.. shows the sdpn lol. Crazy tho I'm a pens fans and I told my friends that are habs fans that this is the year they make a push for it.
