canucks haven't replaced the massive hole down the middle left by JT's exit (yet – they'll have to start drafting centremen like crazy & develop them over the next few years), but they strengthen their top 4 D core, & if petey can get going (now that there's no more big bully miller distraction on his team), they might be OK with (down the middle C's of): pete, chytil, suter/blueger, raty
pettersson is a good top 4 d man and yes in the miller trade they did get shafted but with this trade it makes up they get a center and a defensmen
He's 6-5 and a super skinny 174 lbs
They shed 4.5 mil off their cap next year in Deharnais and Danton. 8 mil for next 6 years for Miller, which was already aging poorly. Not absorbing any of Millers contract and dumping Vinny and Danton's contracts were key pieces in these trades and why it may seem they didn't get enough back. Canucks now have 27 mil in cap space this summer to sign Boeser and Petterson, with some left over for free agency.

Still way light on D and they need another quality centre, they may have gotten rid of a bad apple but they still need a power forward and a hard nose D, Hughs paying the price and Garland can’t do everything in the corners and in front of the net!
Pettersson is smart D it will help Canucks. O'Connor you will get way more grit around the net and in the corners. Sad to see Denton go.

i'm waiting for the day all 3 pettersson's are in on the same goal. they are all pretty good so i may not have a long wait.
Rangers fans speak very favorably about Chityl and were disappointed to see him go. He will get more ice time with the Canucks and I think he's going to do well.
