No way would Casey M for Nelson happen . I get a kick with the Rangers are behind Islanders .but they're a cup threat yet the Isles are.a joke or mediocre. But the Rangers are a threat of course ISLES must trade Nelson. He has class unlike Tavares he said he wanted to see what the F A. Experience is like. The lack of respect people have for that team is nuts.i agree they won't get far but IF that's a big if they keep winning like they have been with throw away defensemen is crazy. Diangelo is far better than what he was on the Rangers. He's grown up and a steal.
Most of us isles fans agree with getting rid of the guys that you mentioned for the sake of a potential better future. We don’t want to lose Nelson for nothing (we know this feeling all too well). Most of us are even saying to sell high during this streak.

Heard several reports last night where the Avs and Islanders might swap Mittelstadt and Nelson, one for one. He's a free agent after this season and the Avs can use him to plug their 2C for the rest of the year, while dumping Mittelstadt's salary. With both Nelson and Mittelstadt gone after the season, that clears up over 6M in cap space for the Avs to look at a 2C for next season. For the Islanders, they retain a long term 2C who's under contract and hope a change of scenery turns things around.
Marchand isn't going anywhere dream on people he wants to play with marner hahaha the leafs can barely afford there own players. Plus they never win in the playoffs bums

Do you think the caps need to do something at the trade deadline? with Lars eller playing better . a third line center was on the table imo but now i dont see them doing anything. its a deep team with only 11 regulation losses in over 50 games played.
Stuart Skinner is either really good, or really bad, there is no middle ground with him.
Canada's team doesn't seem to be based on who is the best player, more about who has an in with the selection committee.

Anything more than a 3rd rd pick for Marchand to go to the oilers would be a massive overpay, dude is 36 years old and a shell of his former self. Would help for one playoff run but we already have a senior that doesnt have much left in the tank in Perry!!
I thought Mittelstadt would thrive in Colorado but I guess not.
