AHAHA calling out the whining refs you suck crowd. Any time an Av player falls for any reason, refs you suck. Refs please help us, we need the help, we are supposed to win. It was an embarrassment by the crowd for a professional hockey game.
I don’t see the Blues winning both games at home… or the Avs winning both. I see this series being tied 2-2 in four days and Colorado winning at home. At that point it’s either Avs in 6 or 7. Yes, St Louis is hungry – but Colorado has a serious chip on their shoulder and they will find a way to not become the Leafs of the second round.

I think the avs were off. Blues played better, but Aves made their own mistakes that lost the game. I think the Aves will be back in the next few games. Great review!
I got my wish!…my Blues beat the Avs (in Colorado, no less) and now won't be swept. Still I held my breath when the Avs made it 2-1. The Blues actually played better than the Avs last night but the Avs have so much firepower that they could have rallied and beaten my Blues. Hope we can win game 3 to make it a long series. I'm sure the Avs will be read the riot act by Sakic and come at us in waves.
Also, we might have gotten very lucky when Makar injured his leg crashing into the goal post. And, yes, he'll still be in the line-up, but at least he'll be dinged up.
You need to give credit to Craig berube for making the changes I think he is the best coach in the nhl when it comes to changing the game

As an Avs fan, they got punched in the mouth in their own house last night. Let’s see how the Avs respond to this game. Panic mode begins if the Blues go up 2-1 or 3-1. Game 3 we find out what the Avs are made of.

Blues played a good game, but lets not act like the Avs brought their best. That was a sloppy effort throughout. I would like to see what it looks like when the Avs best meets up with the Blues best.
I know I’m a blues fan, but the avs fan base should be embarrassed by their behavior. One game doesn’t go their way, and they jeer the refs harder than Nashville!
The Blues used 5 forwards on that 5on3 PP. First time ive seen that
I think another note worthy mention is how many icing calls were waved off. Blues either clearing well, clearing on net, winning races, or getting a little lucky with the call.
They had maybe 6-7 in a row waved off in the third and it looked like it made a difference
They jokingly spoke about schenn beating the camera. The camera is fine and still functional with some damage 😂

Game 1 looked like an AHL team vs an NHL top team, this game looked much more like 2 top NHL teams going back and forth. Go Blues

I do have to say, as an Avs fan I’m loving this series. For a couple reasons. The blues are deep as fuck, and Binnington is apparently back.
Neither team is dirty, they are professionals and taking this seriously.
This is the first series for the Avs I’ll be rooting for who beats us. I absolutely love ROR, I get why he had to go, he’s to good to be stuck as depth.
I am terrified that this team is who can end us. If Minnesota won, we probably beat them in 5.

And to be fare to Avs fans, a) the penalties (5-3) was kinda unfair, as he really couldn’t move he was off balance, also there’s a lot of fair whether fans.
A lot of fans I’ve noticed don’t even remember ROR was part of OUR core team for a while and a favorite.
Fairwhether fans frustrate me, I love seeing more fans, but living in NJ I’ve made every Avs v devils, islanders, some rangers, some others (even have driven up and down the coast to see games; as I only get 1 game per team in my vicinity.
I would NEVER CHANT refs you suck, but I might throw a “come on! Whata joke!” Right after the call…
Is there a stat out there that shows times pulling a goalie actually works for the down team vs times it results in an ENG? I've been watching hockey since the early 90s and I feel like I cant think of less than 10 times Ive seen it work for the trailing team.
Im not saying teams shouldn't do it as by then it usually doesn't matter unless they are only down by one goal.
70/30 of non calls go to blues in this game. There was a lot of holding and hitting of Av players when they didn’t have the puck and in the 3rd the refs finally made a call in favor of Mac. The new Blues jerseys came out, the Color white and black with stripes.
I don’t think Schenn broke the camera. They showed the camera during game 2 and it looks like it has a good shroud around it. Good and dented!

as an avs fan, we chant that shit wayyyyyyyy to much, pisses me off, especially when its even a good call regardless of which team its on. 'refs u suck' just translates to 'oh im sad we got something called against us' as an avs fan

Key for Blues: slow down Avs rush and play stingy D. be patient and score timely goals. Don’t try to get in a gunfight with Avs, you’ll lose in a high scoring game. Strategy! LGB!

Berube made key adjustments. When you have a team like Colorado who thrive on speed and creating opportunities through transition and a little helter skelter style hockey, and that gets neutralized it becomes a problem. The reason behind this is if the Blues have found the ingredient to shut down the Avs the only option Colorado has is to pinch the D further to help create the opportunity. This will leave them exposed on the back end and St Louis will have more opportunities. The Blues were incredibly poised with the puck on the back end which took away the Avs forecheck and forced them back on the heels. If this continues the Blues will mentally own Colorado. Avelanches turn to make adjustments and see if they pan out. On the road is a simpler game, but you also have to make the first change.
