  1. When you take in to account that Anaheims power play is downright abysmal, it’s actually somewhat impressive that they’re managing to hover around the .500 mark.

  2. Nine wins in 10 games, the Canes are rolling strong into the playoffs. And seeing the new signings in Jankowski, Hall, and Stankoven play so well and produce for us just reinforces that the front office made the right choice in trading away Rantanen at the deadline. Rantanen has only scored two goals with Dallas in seven games, and only scored two with us in 13 games. That's four goals in 20 games from a guy who averaged 50 a year the previous two years in Colorado. Looks like someone can't hold their own when MacKinnon isn't on their line…

Honestly, I feel like Dallas got fleeced considering he fact that they gave up two firsts, two thirds, and their star rookie Logan Stankoven in exchange for Rantanen. He's a good playoff performer — at least he was when he was playing with MacKinnon and Makar — but it looks like he wasn't worth the $12M he signed for, and certainly isn''t worth the $14M+ he was asking for.

  3. Man this game would've been much more of a bloodbath if not for Dostal standing on his head. GG Ducks, glad for the bounce back though!
