I was there and have to give so much credit to the Flyers for quieting that Dallas crowd (not easy to do). They were in the way of any play the Stars tried to make and played a great road game. Yeah the OT was messy but they did what any road team should try to do when playing in that building.
Can somebody buy John a suit? His reluctance to wear something other than the pajamas garb, is a slap in the face to coaches, past and present, who have dressed accordingly, as per protocol. Fred Shero would be rolling in his grave.
You never like to lose a game, but the Flyers have put forth 3 consecutive competitive efforts against teams who are likely Stanley Cup contenders. They could have folded after falling behind 2-0 on 2 shots early, but never quit and gave the Stars a run for their money. They just need to take shots when they have the chance instead of trying to make one too many pretty passes.
This team probably would have been competitive from last year onward if John would have just taken a seat in the press box. Trading youthful veterans mid season, just to get rid of them? Wow.
