The only thing wrong with Laughton is the price that the Leafs had to pay for him, AND the media gaslighting the fan base by saying he is exactly what the Leafs needed and that the Leafs are winners this trade deadline because of it.
Fans are focused on him because they were told he was the saviour. They should be more focused on Matthews doing his best Broberg impression on the 3 on 1 breakaway goal. If he hustled, he would have been able to tie up Forsberg to prevent the rebound. That’s the captain giving up on a shift,and on the game – his leadership to the T.

Watched the Montreal game after I watched the Leafs game….what a difference, The Habs play like a team, like they care….the Leafs play like they are thinking about where they are going to play golf this year, and how much the interest rates are affecting their bank accounts…

Panthers lose, Lightening lose. Toronto, one of the better teams in the league, are playing one of the worst teams in the league, and have a chance to make up some points on their two main rivals in the division. Of course they lose too.

So the list of things the Leafs do and don’t do started smaller but it gets bigger every week.
Started with stuff like shooting the puck in and chasing it which could be ok ,unless you only chase it half or less of the time and if you do chase try and win battle more than 1/2 the time.
Next thing you should be shooting the puck on net, but if you shoot which they don’t enough hit the net and if you pass make it a good pass.
Giving the effort you need to win, which they don’t often, this means effort, grit,want,toughness,soul,heart, etc.
Now we are back to losing games that you need if you want to win division to the last place team in the nhl .
I said that after the year they have had two or three game winning streak is not coming to cut it when you put up a three or more game losing streak.
If this team want to win they need to get some guts,grit and soul, suck it up and win games.
We the fans now and the ones that have watched for 60 years like me deserve to see the Leafs win a cup before we die, and with the money and things the management do for them, they need to put a full 60 min effort in every night not 40-60 precent effort we get most nights.
I have seen only a couple games this year that they put 100 precent effort in, the best was game against Tampa, now that was hockey . Go Leafs Go!!!!!!
