  1. Does anyone know if you can put conditions on picks that are years in the future? For example, could a team include conditional picks for 2022, 2023, 2024 and beyond that are dependent on points/number of games played for Eichel? I.e. if he plays over 70 games or scores over X points in each respective year the pick is a first rounder, if he plays 60-70 and scores Y points in a year that pick is a second rounder, etc. etc. and if he plays less than 10 games there is no pick (or a 7th or something) so that his return matches his recovery?

  2. Montreal doesn't have enough to trade for Eichel. They'd need to give Suzuki and Caulfield and most of their pics to meet Buffalo's demand. Think Buffalo might even ask for Allen. So what does that leave Montreal with if Eichel isn't healthy? Price, that's all.

  3. If Montreal doesn’t match kk’s offer sheet, I’d like to see them use the picks on a guy like Hertl, a top 6 centre who is reliable offensively and will help with the power play

  4. I would imagine Cole Caufield would have to be part of any package going back to Buffalo, and if the Habs/Begervin refuse, well they better have an extra arm or leg to keep Buffalo/Adams listening… Look, I don't think most teams have the assets or could afford the assets Adams demands in an Eichel deal, so right now I really don't anticipate Eichel going anywhere… And keep in mind Eichel is still a "?" with his injury, so on top of a significant franchise altering package which is a risk within itself, there's an additional risk because of his health… Eichel is a really big gamble.

  5. Trading Jack in same division will have to be over a payment from Montreal.
Late 1st round picks are 2nd round picks to Sabres. Adam's make him sit!!!

  6. I think Canes have put in Habs checkmate, if they match KK's offer-sheet, they can't trade him the first year, so he can't be used as a piece in an Eichel trade. And still, if Habs do match KK's offer-sheet, Canes can give another one to Nick Suzuki next year 😀

  7. Until Eichel has his surgery and you know his condition, I'm not touching him.

Take the draft picks for Kotkaniemi, they weren't playing him anyway.

  8. Dvorak seems like a good idea, Eichel with the health issues and massive cap hit seems very risky at this point.

  9. i just don't see eichel going to montreal without the sabres asking for suzuki or caufield in return.

kuznetsov is an option, but he's a bit older and has attitude problems. still, he fills the need, and probably wouldn't cost much more than a 1st and a prospect dman.

for both of these, drouin has to go in the deal for salary reasons.

honestly, i'd just try and make the dvorak trade. the picks gained from the offer sheet might be enough. maybe we throw drouin at them and add a sweetener, like brook, harris, or poehling.

  10. Go for broke. Take the compensation and go for Eichel. Fix a problem you have been looking to fix since you came to MTL (from a Leafs fan who would love a relevant rivalry):

    To MTL:
    Eichel

    To BUF
Drouin (You have cole Caufield to round out your top 6 wingers)
    CAR 1st 2022
    MTL 1st 2022**
    MTL 2nd 2022
    CAR 3rd 2022
    MTL 2nd 2023

    *2022 MTL 1st top 5 protected (slides to 2023)

**Becomes a 2023 3rd round pick if Eichel plays 41 games or less in 2022 & 2023 combined.

Maybe throw in a prospect or two who isnt named Guhle).

  11. As a Jets fan I'd gladly give up Scheifele for Eichel, toss in a Conditional 2023 1st & 2024 2nd picks and the Sabres can toss in Aaron Dell to back-up the Jets' back-up Eric Comrie. Now, if they can only talk Mark into waiving his M-NTC because I'm pretty sure Buffalo is on it.🤔

  12. Finland just took home the bronze a couple of hours ago. Props to the Swiss for making it to the top four, what a team they had. Heartbreaking to watch them lose but I’m glad for my country winning another bronze. Still bitter about 2019 tho..

  13. Don't target Eichel. The price and risk are too high. Take the comp on KK. He's clearly soured on MTL and Canes may even have known it pre-troll. Look for Cs but don't do anything drastic or desperate (see Karl Alzner).

  14. Buffalo shot themselves in the foot on this one. Imagine they let him have the surgery 2 months ago like he wanted, the recovery time for the surgery was 2 months I believe. They probably could have been getting a trade done around now if not already

  15. Imagine if Carolina tanks this year and that first round is a 1st overall. Then the Canadiens will have gotten the better of the whole ordeal.

  16. Just watched the latest SDPN… Shannon will be on the next episode, I'm so happy for this! (And now that Shannon is bigger on youtube than those guys, so hopefully both will gain a boost). And no, I'm not a Leafs fan, but still watch SDPN (as well as every video Shannon puts out)
