This is the story of Mike Tyson’s beginning and peak. The begging and peak of his life and career. He had his downs in the 90s and is back up. His downs in the 70s and early 80s, but his high was in the mid to late 80s.
Born June 30th 1966, he was born Michael Gerard Tyson.
Raised in Brownsville Brooklyn, he was arrested 30 times by the age of 13.
But once in the Juvenile Detention Center in Catskill, he was noticed by Rumble in the Jungle and Professional Boxer, Bobby Stewart. Who was a Couselor at the facility.
Stewart brought Tyson, as a young teen, to the legendary trainer Cus D’Amato. Tyson was 12 years old and Cus was 79. Tyson saw Cus as a father and vice versa. Cus even worded in interviews, that Tyson was a reason for him to stay alive. Not to mention that he could be the youngest heavyweight champion of all time. Which is what Mike went on to become.
Cus had previously trained the youngest heavyweight champ, Floyd Patterson. And Mike was 20 when he was declared champ.

Mike had his strong team assigned by Cus. Cus’ friends, who became like brothers to Tyson. Co-managers in Bill Ayton and Jimmy Jacobs. Jim became a best friend to Mike. Once on top of the world, Mike got his fame and fortune, Don King entered his world, he met Robin Givens, Jim Jacobs and Cus had passed, and his world started to spiral. Then the 90s began.

Today we know who Mike Tyson is and love his recovery. But his peak days and dominance were in the 80s. With Trainer Kevin Rooney, 35-0 with 31 Knockouts, Cus D’Amato, Bill Ayton and Jimmy Jacobs, being on Arsenio Hall with Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali. This is the story of the rise of Iron Mike Tyson!
