Much needed W. I'm still not feeling it. Isles on a spurt with too many games to go meaning a 3 L in 4 games probably still to come. Could be the late season under the radar and out of it W streak. Once again 30 better than other goalie and could be isle hero. Even tho pp came to life with 2 g's pk gave up yet another killer g to get habs back in game by laine the guy louzer was allergic to all off season. And another blown 2 g third period lead so even with ot w its a row w not reg, w which isles are behind in thanks to those blown leads and loser pt. games and could prove costly in tie breaker scenario.
And as goat18 who did nothing reverts back to useless form there is a way down the line to dump 18. With houston talking up bettman about expansion team 18 would be a perfect expansion draft dump to a new team. Still plenty of time with 5 more years to go after this season for an 18 expansion draft dump. Get that list ready louzer. Tony d. with 2 pp pts. could be a hero too.
And sat. is another desperation game as well for flames too who beat nj 5-3 and are trying to get final w c in west and in a dog fight with blows and casucks who blows beat in ot 4-3.
Exciting win. Let’s go Isles
Playoff Hopes…you told us it could never be possible and that they would be better off missing playoffs….you change your tune all the time…
I want to say Tom poti for bday of the day..not sure though
We've seen this movie before with this team. We can very well do some NYI bullshit and drop the next 5
playoffs…thank god we traded scrub nelson. 2 assists no goals six games for Colorado! the second assist was just a face-off win in over time…brock gonna regret holding out…lou offered very fair deal. for a team to offer Brock 5 or 6 year contract they would have to be insane
Good 🌄, Gil. How are you? They almost blew it when Gallagher tied it up, but Bo Horvat came through in OT. I got to give it to the Islanders, THEY KEPT THEIR COOL. Anders Lee got his 500th career assist on Anthony DuClair's PP goal. Tony D'Angelo had 2 assists and 4 shots on goal. Noah Dobson's going to be a liability on defense. The specialty teams have to play better. The next 3 games are major starring with Calgary. Hero, Bo Horvat for scoring 2 goals. 🐐 JG Pageou for the giveaway that led to the tying goal. They've got Calgary, tomorrow. The 🔥 have always been tough against the Islanders ever since their days in Atlanta when they came into the league together. HAPPY 🎂, TOM PODI. He scored a goal and 2 assists in an OT win against the 🌀. Hear from you later, but before I go, I saw a clip on the show on Ch. 5 called PM Magazine. They featured Trots, who was over the 🌙 at 24 with the Islanders winning the Stanley Cup, and him winning the Conn Smythe 🏆, and he and his wife talked about how he "borrowed" the Stanley Cup. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Good morning team! Gil, exciting to say the least, and at this point, that's all I want. I still don't think they are going to make it to the playoffs, but I'm okay with that. They played, what I like to play Islander hockey. We played a hot team, we played hard, and did what we had to do. If the team played the way they did last night and loss, I would have been okay with that as well. At least the team is not laying down and giving up. I'm not even upset they allowed Montreal to get the loser point. I don't know how we're going to play the rest of our games, but hopefully they can play with this same intensity. Being outshot, doesn't bother me. Not trying does bother me. Big game coming up tomorrow against the Flames. We have to show up again! Everyone, have a great day and wonderful weekend! Enjoy the game tomorrow. See you all again Monday. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Roy’s challenge to Suzukis goal was the difference..great call for the guys in the truck!!! LGI!!
Everything lined up good last night, except giving the Habs a point. Everyone else lost.
Have to say. Engvall looked very noticeable on the ice. He was all over the place. Couple of good scoring chances. He took a ton of criticism all year, but have to praise him for his elevated play.
Can't say much on the game since I tuned in with 7 min to go in the 3rd, right about when Jg turned the puck over. Never the less those were exciting last 7 minutes and ot,more importantly they earned two huge points
Isles have to win by drives to the net and perfect shots to the attic or over the blocker. Lee can take the puck and box out his man to throw it in front and once again goal tender interference goes against them. 2 ppg’s! But once again a lack of offensive ability will cause an early exit if they even make it to the playoffs because the other skilled team commits to defense more. Tony D and Reilly are two big offensive Defensemen helps too. Dobber did cough up the puck but i’m not giving up on him being better on D.
Sorokin was great last night but does anyone else notice that he is below average on stopping in game breakaways? Almost gives up the goal every time.
Gm Gil. Had their not been a lot of very poor and less than elite defensive play as well as that stupid play by Pageau this should not have been close. This is still a one and done team in the playoffs IF they make it. Also, this handed the Habs a point where they should have gotten one.
Pierre Engvall has speed and is a skilled player when he makes his mind up to do well! Let’s see after the playoffs
“ first do no harm…” good one, Gil.
This is Horvat’s team. Slap the”C” on him already . This Barzal injury thing is never going to end , fiscally detrimental. Enough , We are not winning Lord Stanley with MB leading the charge. Hope he’s traded for a fantastic return this summer
Lou must retire. I don’t want his son taking over
Does it matter if they make the playoffs??? Get a new GM and fully re-build pls
credit to the isles for the win
Sorokin had 38 saves and two assists (including on GW goal)! He wasn’t just a goalie, he also played quarterback!😅
You’re a better man than me, Gil. All I saw was Dobson letting Sorokin down. (Yes, he played the 3-1 okay) but you can’t let your teammate down like that, Sorokin did his job, that goal was all on Dobson. Bowie always giveth and taketh (you cannot pass the puck to the opposing player in your zone & hang your goaltender out to dry. #14 ALWAYS giveth & taketh away. Okay, I’m convinced that Holmstrom is the real deal, now he has to learn to be more shellfish and shoot the puck more because he has a wicked deadly shot & should be a 20-30 goal scorer next season. This is the first game that I watched the entire match live in weeks. (I did pause it a few times to rewatch 2-3 plays) I see Sorokin has adjusted to the league shooting high on him, and he’s not dropping down to his knees too soon. However, I don’t need to see him making these AMAZING saves that he makes, to realise he’s fatigued to -blank-! His posture tells me all I need to know how worn down he is. [Maybe his weird posture is because he’s adjusting to being more of a standup goaltender) But I think it’s fatigue. What say you? Hey, some guys play better when they’re fatigued, I’ve played with one, but he was out 3rd centre (John Ryan) Rest in peace John, your wife and adopted child are beautiful human beings! Sorry, I’m usually never this negative, I just don’t like seeing our potential HOF goaltender exhausted just to get into the lousy playoffs, that we really don’t deserve to be in.
Lol, man you’re right, Tony DeAngelo rides that blue line like a Slip ‘N Slid, I love it! I also think Tony’s blue-line play has been a godsend for Romanov. Romanov isn’t going to be an offensive juggernaut, but he doesn’t have to be a Mayfield and I love the way Mayfield plays. He’s a good stay-at-home nasty, physical-in-your-face playoff player. If Romanov could skate forwards better, and could carry the puck out of his zone like Tony DeAngelo, with his physicality?! He’d be a great player! But he’s good enough for the price and he’s still fairly young. He’s a completely different player than when we got him, he’s a much better player.
