  1. From a once young boy who watched on channel 9 NY. Thank you so much, Sam, for the memories. It's a power-play career, and you're leading the league.
    LETS GO RANGERS!

  2. I'm going to miss Sam. What a total professional. He's a fan but he calls the games fairly. A huge portion of the Rangers fan base has never heard anyone else call their game. It's sad to see it end but if anyone has earned the accolades it's Sam. Congratulations on your retirement!

  3. I was Eight when I started watching the Rangers. I'm now 48. Sam is quite literally the voice of my childhood all the way into middle-age. Thanks! It won't be the same without you!

  4. It's never going to be the same without Sam in the box calling the game with Joe. Their dynamic on the calls are second to none. As Ranger fans, we've been incredibly lucky to enjoy every broadcast with Sam over the past 40 years. Congratulations Sam, you deserve all of the praise, love, respect, and admiration coming your way! We will miss you!

  5. In a year of a what ever this team is. Sam I have watched this season in honor of you. It's definitely going to be different not hearing that voice. Forever the voice of the Rangers. Congrats Sam

  6. Met Sam a few years ago randomly at Newark airport. He was coming off a flight and walked over to the baggage claim right near me and my girlfriend. They we're playing later that night and I didnt really want to bother him, so just went over and gave a quick "Lets Go Rangers" and he ended up stopping to talk with us for like 5 minutes about the Rangers and the league in general. He was truly as cool and genuine as you would imagine. Enjoy your retirement Sam you really are the best!
