  1. Stars fan checking in here again, followed you last year during our series. You guys are looking great again – scary as all hell. Avs also are terrifying…

Jets? Idk… is this a playoff team? I think with the goaltending and special teams they should be the favorite how are the slept on..

    Good luck from Texas

  2. This will be a great test and measuring stick. We're riding a high with Derek Ryan back in the dressing room and the faceoff circle, the Jets looking for a rebound. But hey, they got enough points, we need em more! On to the top of the Pacific! Go Oilers!

  3. In my opinion I think the main factor of this game is goaltending. If the Oilers play how they should. Their offense and defense should be better. However is Hellebuyck is on point and Stu isn't, we can easily if not probably lose this game. I'm gonna still say 5-2 Oilers though. We're coming off a 7-1 win where the boys and Stu looked confortable. I think we will carry the momentum into tonight's game.

  4. Hellebuyck has a history of being overworked with consecutive starts especially come end of season and in the playoffs. Edmonton is doing a good job spreading the load between Stu and picks. After what Vancouver did to Winnipeg the other night, you could see that there is a way to break their system and pour on shots. Winnipeg being masters of the cycle, means my player to watch isn’t a player, but is coach Knoblauch. I want to see how he utilizes his players and allocates time today. This is going to be a really tactical game, and I don’t expect it to be easy for either team to break through the neutral zone.

  5. I'll say the player to watch for me is jeff Skinner. He's been playing great around the puck but hasn't really gotten on the board yet. If this is where he wants to stay and where we hope he is, he'll have to show it against a team like the jets. Not saying he has to score a goal, but being the facilitator of a goal or two would be huge for him and this lineup. Also, throw in that second pairing. With bouch and ekholm together back, nurse and walman need to keep up the strong play.

  6. Imo Nurse and Walman should play 1st pairing. Ekholm is getting up there in age, he needs less work before playoffs; and Bouchard has a difficult time defending top players. Nurse and Walman are more younger and stronger as a pair, can handle the work load.

  7. Unfortunate that Drai got injured but I'd rather have him fully healthy for the playoffs. Players to watch: Nuge, Jeff Skinner, and McDavid. I feel like Nuge isn't done with his streak yet and will probably get 2 or 3 pts this game, J Skinner was pretty good last game but didn't a point and I think he will pot at least one goal today, McDavid will definitely step up like Drai stepped up for him earlier in the season, possibly a 4 pt night? Oilers 6-3. The Jets are a very likely the best team in the league (regular season) but when the Oilers are clicking like this, they can be a top 3 team that no body wants to face. They were the best team in both November and December if I remember correctly, when the team was working in unison like they seem to be doing now.

  8. Now with Draisaitl very likely not in the lineup, this game is gonna be arguably the biggest test of the season by far! And this all going to come down to goal tending, is gonna be very difficult for Stu to out duel Hellebuyck, but with that being said McDavid and others have to go nuclear on offense because I personally trust our D with Ekholm and Walman being in the top 2 🙂 final score EDM 4-3 OT, if they pull out a regulation win versus Winnipeg would be a massive one, but if we’re not careful at all on being consistent on D, we’ll very much lose this one 🥲

  9. This mornings lines
    Skinner McD Hym
    Podz Nuge Arvy
    Perry Rico Brown
    Jones Janny Kapanen

    Ek Bouch
    Nurse Stetch
    Wally Kulak

  10. Link for tonight's LIVESTREAM! ❌❌ UPDATE: Internet is chalked tonight, no livestream but I will have a post-game video. Sorry for the late notice :/

  11. If we can keep the awesome stick work and passing to each other the same way,and no give aways, we should take them out. Keep giving the fans the show we want to see. Oilers are #1

  12. Austin we can’t win by two goals. We have to win by one or three because I think the only way we’re winning by two is this we get an empty netter and you know what happens when we get an empty net.

  13. Sounds like Drai is out tonight. They'll need to play like they did against Utah. I think the boys will be fired up to show they can beat the #1 team in the conference.

  14. I’m gonna be paying attention to Ty ‘emberson, I wanna see him get infront of more pucks, it looked like he was scared to block shots and getting out of the way hope he learned his lesson in the press box last game

  15. in my opinion i feel like winnipeg gets the first go and the mental is just destroyed soo i predict edmonton down 4-2 come back for ot and lose 5:4 SO

  16. Tonight's game will be the barometer by which to measure this team's readiness. If they don't have it tonight, against long-time rival WPG, who is playing to retain top spot in the league, well, they aren't going to find it over the next 14 games to round out the season.

Hopefully we see Super Stu in net tonight, and not "Hey, Winnipeg, why don't you have a 3-0 start, on me." Stu tonight.

  17. Not a test for the Oilers without Leon. But it’s a test for Stu Skinner. He needs a much higher save % against playoff teams.

  18. Even with Drai being out or not 100%, for some reason I have good feeling about this game and my feelings are now 8/8 this season. I'm really impressed that Jeff Skinner has stuck with it, some players would be bitter but he's just hungry out there and he seems really willing to follow McDavid's leadership. The defense also seems to almost be having fun out there with all the pressure that was taken off with Ekholm drawing back in and Walman adding so much of what was missing.

  19. Just really really hoping Draisitle doesn't screw himself up before playoffs, playing through major injury is something I don't like about hockey culture, I don't know if there's some way the league could prevent that from happening if the players aren't going to ever shut themselves down

  20. Edmonton wins, 2-1 with a goal in the final 4 minutes of the game to win it by a hair.
Players to watch: Draisaitl (If he plays) Arvidsson if not, and from Winnipeg Mark Sheifele

  21. Going to see McDavid play without Draisaitl in the lineup tonight. That will put a huge dent on the offensive side of things. Oilers need to be disciplined and guys have to step up.
Winnipeg has a solid top 9, if not 12.
Hellebuyck probably looking to redeem himself from the Canucks game, as is the whole Jets team.
Good teams adjust their style and intensity when their best players are out of the lineup. Guess we will see where the Oilers are as a team tonight.
