  1. I am totally in favor of starting from scratch. Since 2009, every Stanley Cup winning team has had a major contributor that was a top 4 pick with the exception of Boston, who although they had Seguin, he was not an integral part of that team. Penguins had Fleury, Malkin, Crosby, and Staal, Chicago had Toews and Kane, LA had Doughty, Caps had Ovechkin and Backstrom, Blues had Pietrangelo, Tampa had Stamkos and Hedman, Colorado had MacKinnon, Landeskog, and Makar, Vegas had Eichel, and Florida had Barkov, Ekblad, Reinhart, and Bennett.

Obviously most of these teams added good players around them, but these players formed the base. It doesn't guarantee a Cup (many teams have not won the Cup in spite of having top picks – Buffalo comes to mind), but 15 of the last 16 Cups have players drafted that high, which means if you want to win, the odds say you need to get top 4 picks. Even other teams that have top picks at least have become competitive – NJ, Edmonton, Toronto, for example.

I want the Flyers to get several top 4 picks to help make them a continually competitive team. Sadly, Philly doesn't do this, so the team will continue to flounder about.

  2. There are good things like jamie, catesy, bobby development. there are lots of meh ones like close to none return for frost and beezer. Powerplay is at bottom for second year straight. Torts keeps repeating for xxx time players need to be more consistent, what it actually means? Probably nothing much at this point.
Tk tippet are meh but for a lot of money. Cant see how this organisation can be successful with being nice and no pressure to everyone. how you expect top players to come and be part of this mess. How its any better than last season. How many more rebuild season is needed?
If you look how much monet flyers spend and what they have , its ridiculous. Stopped watching it at all, not expecting any significant progress after 25 draft

  3. let's hope things can start to go right for the Flyers. It's hard to be positive given all the things that have gone wrong with this franchise. It seems like they are jinxed – Nolan Patrick, Cutter, Carter Hart, the Couts injury after signing him to a long-term contract. And the problem is Hextall was rebuilding in 2014. So really this has been going on forever. At best you can say give Briere a chance, but there a plenty of reasons to be skeptical.

  4. I think you guys are spot on with that Hart chatter. There are unsubstantiated rumors that the charges will be dropped.

  5. There is a bit of potential in future draft, it will take years to see full potential of guys from future draft. Most likely we will not get anyone close to Mitch anytime soon. Supposedly 2025 was about strong center picks but now stories are mixed. Below draft list for last 5 years, just to watch it and think what happend in the past
