Kris Draper: The grind never stops

Daniella Bruce and Ken Kal sit down with Red Wings assistant general manager and director of amateur scouting, Kris Draper. The trio dives into Draper’s transition from player to front-office leader, his approach to scouting, and how he’s helping shape the future of the Red Wings. How has player development evolved since his playing days? What does he look for in the next generation of NHL talent? Draper also shares stories from his playing career, including his journey from a $1 trade to a key piece of the Red Wings’ championship teams. Plus, hear about his impressive collection of hockey memorabilia, including a vintage Grind Line tee-shirt.

  1. Yeah, the rebuild will never stop either. Draper talked about being in shape and how important that is for your career. Why the hell does Rasmussen come back year after year still looking like a string bean? The guy obviously doesn’t respect himself or his career

  2. Another collapse near the end of the season. Becoming the DRW way. At least the content team is pumping out decent stuff.

  3. If you ever need an audio post production person, let me know. I can largely remove background noise (and fire alarms when possible).

Editing, music, sound effects, etc. Can do it all, and love the Red Wings. Quite literally I was named after Stevie.

  4. A never ending rebuild with zero expectations for management or players. Sounds like a dream job for sure.

  5. Another year, NO playoffs yet Yzerman keeps his job like Blashill & Lalonde did way too long! Wings are WEAK, Meek with Zero Toughness & that's on Steve who had Probert, Kocer, Gallant etc…protecting him! Stevie is a USELASS COWARD like Wings! SAD!!!!!!!
