  1. This is what I suggested in Skate Pod
Well if they can somehow trade Swayman, they can free up more money for the offense. Give Lindholm more time especially he is pretty good at face-off. Either way, I have a few targets for trade or free agency that I would love to see, have all of choices below or some combinations.
    1) Trade with the Ducks to get Zegras, I know he was hurt the last 2 years, but he can be your skill guys to give you 60 to 70 points when healthy, he has 1 more year for $5.7M+ and then an RFA
    2) Try to get Marner through free agency even though he is expensive, but if you want skill you have to pay
    3) Trade for Alex Tuch, he has 1 more year of $4.7M and become a UFA
    4) Will have to wait for a #1 center, hopefully from within, if not, try to get one the year after

    2025-2026 (Starting Lineup)
    Zacha – Geekie – Pastrnak
    Mittelstadt – Zegras – Marner
    Khusnutdinov – Lindholm – Tuch
    Lauko(maybe) – Kastelic – Kopeke(maybe)

    Lindholm – McAvoy
    Zadorov – Jokiharju
    Lohrei – Peeke

    What do you guys think?

  2. No no no to Marner why on earth would we pay another RW big money?! He’s gonna get 12.8-14 no thanks would rather have Elhers and Chykrun

  3. WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DISCUSSING MITCH MARNER FOR?!?!? FUCK NO!!!

He scored an OT goal in the 4 Nations.
Cool, it didn't mean jack shit at the time.
He assisted on the golden goal.
Cool, he gave the puck to the best player in the world who was wide open in the slot.

Maybe you guys dont know how much dick Marner sucks when it comes to playoff hockey. Someone should have told you before you posted this video that playoff hockey is the only thing that matters.

  4. ABSOLUTELY for Marner! When that kind of talent becoming available you need to be on and hard cause it s hard to find when you re not picking top 5 at a draft and you re bad for years…

  5. Marner is more skilled and dynamic than Bergeron, and is only slightly less able on the defensive end. He is not a centre, but is one of those few wingers that drives a line and controls the pace of play. He is always the first guy to recognize the need to cover for a pinching dman, is always first on the backcheck, and has lead the league numerous times in takeaways by forwards. Over my watching of thousands of games over the past 50 years, his ability off the puck to force the opposition to make their 2nd best play/pass on breakouts or through the neutral zone as opposed to their primary/better option is better than any other player than Bergeron. He is by FAR the best penalty killer on the Leafs, their most responsible and defensively aware forward while being their leading scorer. And despite the leafs lack of playoff success, his playoff points per game and +/- is tops on the team. Oh, his playoff points per game just happens to be better than Bergeron's.

  6. There is no reason to not give Fabian Lysell a shot but it is a bit weird that Joe Sacco was praising him for things like his consistency and play away from the puck in Providence when every single media person that covers the P-Bruins and fans down there have said Lysell is still struggling with those things down there

As for his scoring, Lysell has regressed this season as he’s sixth in points behind superstars Riley Tufte and Jeffrey Viel and 7th in goals behind the now in Edmonton Max FN Jones

Fabian Lysell has NHL speed and hands but he’s more a playmaker than a natural goal scorer, he hasn’t been good with the details away from the puck and his compete level as well as his consistency are still all over the place

Bruins homers, Fabian Lysell has absolutely ZERO value around the NHL

Not a single other GM in the NHL would give the Bruins anything for him at this point. The return in any deal would be something around a low round pick or he’d just be a thrown in as part of something real in terms of a trade

The ship has already sailed in terms of Fabian Lysell ever becoming this high point producing, goal scoring, Top 6 winger in the NHL. At this point if all Lysell can become is a middle six wing who can score 15-20 goals and 35-40 points per year that’d be a win

There’s nothing wrong with that. The only big issue with it now is that Lysell would have to improve by leaps and bounds to just become that middle six guy at this point in his development. Yuck.

I wouldn’t expect much out of him at the NHL level as Lysell likely isn’t going to show much the rest of the year, instead, he’ll likely just show he was yet another of Don Sweeney’s busted 1st round draft picks

As for this continued cry to call Georii Merkulov up again

Bruins homers, even the Bruins keep telling you they don’t think Merkulov is in their future. He has nothing to prove in the AHL anymore but they simply won’t give him a run in Boston

Why? Because Merkulov is not a real NHL player.

He lacks NHL size and speed, he’s at the bottom end of average defensively and with details away from the puck, he’s weak physically and he’s more of a playmaker than a goal scorer.

The time and space he gets in the AHL where he continues to be a perimeter player he won’t get in the NHL and if he’s not scoring in the NHL he’s useless at that level as he provides nothing else

Merkulov is either going to be traded by Boston, asked to be traded or they are just going to walk away from him as an RFA. Georgii Merkulov will never be an option for the Boston Bruins long term. It is what it is.

As for Poitras and Minten, those are NHL guys already, the Bruins know that.

There are no reasons to bring either up to the sinking ship in Boston right now. They’d both be better served staying in PVD playing in top line roles & in all situations while also being looked to as not just scorers but leaders

The rest of the Bruins prospects? Um, in Providence, they don’t really have many other “real” NHL prospects and of those they do have down there, they fall into two categories

Guys who are nowhere near ready to be full time NHL players like Jackson Edward and Frederic Brunet on defense

Or they are low event, bottom 6, grinding forwards (as if the Bruins need more of those) who would also likely be better served marinating in Providence than barely playing in Boston the rest of the year like Riley Duran, John Farinacci and Trevor Kuntar

Homers can keep calling for Dipietro to be called up but he’s 25 and a pending UFA. Swayman and Korpisalo both have long term deals and Korpisalo has an NMC. Why at 25 and as a UFA would he re-sign in Boston?

They could tell him, “We will try to move Korpisalo” but one, the Bruins may not want to do that and two, they might not be able to move him then it’d be back to PVD for DiPietro anyway.

Michael Dipietro is not in the Bruins long term plans

As for Brandon Bussi, he’s a career AHL at 26 at this point. He doesn’t even project as a backup at the NHL level and he’s an RFA the Bruins will stink in PVD again if he re-signs

So that’s it for those great Bruins prospects

The only two real defensive prospects down in PVD right now are Brunet and Edward. Both are late round, long shot development guys drafted in the 4th-7tth round who aren’t ready for the NHL

Lysell is the only real offensive minded forward prospect they have in PVD (outside of Poitras and Minten who are future NHLes and likely won’t be called up again this year)

Then again, it’s the stable of 3rd-7th round forwards who all project as low event, non scoring, two way grinders at the NHL level in Farinacci, Duran and Kuntar.

Those guys aren’t ready for the NHL and all three would be better served in PVD the rest of the season as well

The Bruins Farm System is rotten folks

The forwards they just traded for Zellers, Minten and Khusnutdinov are now the Bruins best forward prospects and it’s not a close race because those three project as real scorers in the NHL where Don Sweeney’s drafted forwards down in PVD do not.

After those three again, it’s the nothing burger Merkulov, a downtrending Lysell (who is now up) and then three bottom 6 projected guys in Farinacci, Duran and Kuntar

The defender they traded for Max Wanner (a 7th rounder himself) is probably the closest to the NHL prospect they have at defense and he projects at his ceiling as a 3rd pair guy in the NHL

The next best defensive prospects are Elliot Groenwold, Jackson Edward, Frederic Brunet, Ty Gallagher and Loke Johansson each and every last one of them is 4th-7th round, long shot, development player

Don Sweeney has made 37 draft picks at forward and defense in 10 years as GM in rounds 3-7 and not only has not a single one of the D-man not become a full time NHL player

NOT ONE has ever played even a SINGLE NHL shift so I wouldn’t get your hopes up about any of this current stable of 3rd-7th round defenders Sweeney has collected

In goal in terms of their prospects it’s a black hole.

Again, Dipietor is 25, a UFA and has no reason to re-sign. Bussi is 26, an RFA and not a future NHLer. The only other goalie prospect in their system is an underwhelming Philip Svedeback that has had a down year in the NCAA and who also right now doesn’t project as an NHL goalie

The Bruins will bring in goalies either via the draft, as college UFAs or even as UFAs at the pro and AHL level because they have to, they have next to nothing at the position prospect wise presently

Again, the Bruins Farm System is absolutely rotten and you can say Sweeney traded all the high picks to try to win (which is a lie because some were moved to fix UFA mistakes)

However, that means he NEEDED to hit in rounds 3-7 these past 10 years

The NHL games played leader at defense that he’s drafted in 10 years as GM from rounds 3-7?
NO ONE!!! Not one defender he’s drafted from those rounds has played in the NHL to date.

The NHL games played leader at forward that he’s drafted in 10 years as GM from rounds 3-7?

Jacob Lauko (125 NHL games) a 4th liner they had to trade for to get back
Oscar Steen (60 NHL games now in Europe)
Jonna Koppanen (5 NHL games) now in Europe

Don Sweeney’s last three first round picks and the only first round picks they’ve made since 2019 have been John Beecher, Fabian Lysell and Dean Letourneau.

Um, that’s pretty terrible as Beecher is a 4th line throwaway, Lysell might not even be an NHLer at this point and no one knows what Dean Letourneau is or isn’t but so far, it’s not looking great

Thanks Don Sweeny but yeah Bruins fans, I got bad news you…

You can keep clamoring for more of these so called “prospects” to be called up but the reality is the Bruins don’t have many real NHL prospects to call up right now and they won’t anytime soon because outside of Minten, Fraser & Khusnutdinov there isn’t a future dynamic NHL player in the bunch.

There really isn’t even hardly any real NHL talent in their crap farm system, period

    Again, Thanks Don Sweeney

  7. Conor, in passing, nailed it. Sweeney will go heavily after Boeser and a right shot D like Poink. In the draft though, unless we win the lottery we're picking Hensler a defenseman not a center.

  8. I don’t think people realize ehlers and Marner are are a combined 23 million. Marner is gonna get 14X8 and ehlers 9×7. Considering we have a lot of RFAs to sign, it’s possible to get Ehlers and maybe trade for Alex tuch or only get Marner. In either scenario we have to trade korpisalo and get geekie and lohrei at low prices because both of them will probably want 5m for 3 years. Also all of the bottom six guys like Khusy and Wotherspoon would need to be signed at less than 1.5 mil
