Death. Taxes. Penguins blowing a third period lead to the Islanders.
W over -50 pens with second worst ga. Well with no shot at high lottery pick now might as well go for playoff spot and quick first round fkn sweep. Man this team drives me fkn nuts. Make up your mind-playoffs or high pick? Problem-no choice but to go with a taxed 30 the rest of the way. Roy has unleashed his secret weapon 18 for second line duty for playoff run. Let 18 lead the way. THAT IS ALL.
Jarry,Jarry,Jarry it’s nice to see him in his early season form. We can always count on him to make us look good. lol
nice win, still have to go about 12-3, you got Columbus, Calgary Montreal, coming up, each in playoff hunt…These 3 games are your season, lose 2 of 3 you are out…good luck
Playoffs or no playoffs, I'm a proud fan of the way the Islanders have been playing of late, and kudos to #18 who's play has been excellent over the past three games
Good lord, these lazy players who refuses to consistently give adequate effort now try when the season is over & the only benefit of wins is to fuel delusion and prevent meaningful change. In less than a week these "players" damaged draft position, going from selecting 8th to 14th. I want most of players gone & I want every Devils in front office gone. Stupid "wins" like this is why the cycle of pain has gone on so long. If you are celebrating just remember when these guys won't play hard until deadline is approaching or over next year.
Gil, it's literally the same script every year, right down to trading a pick to Stl for a d-man they are scratching, blowing the trade deadline, Lou BS in post-deadline press conference. Now wins that hurt, promises of big changes in summer that don't happen & then at camp excuses as to why there were no changes. It's 5 years in a row..Dumbest team on & of ice in hockey. I will NEVSR believe in these players they will always fail us.
Gil, EVERY year since Covid, we've seen pretty much the situation play out. They dig themselves a nice deep hole all the way up to the trade deadline, then miraculous play better. This type of insult is basically embedded into their carriers, and there is absolutely no way of fixing it without a massive roster turnover PERIOD.
Chara, bday of the day.
LGI !
It’s a pointless win. They are going nowhere and everyone knows it.
Good 🌄, Gil. How are you? The Islanders looked flat for the 1st 40 minutes of the game last 🌙, but they came back to beat the 🐧4-2. The Islanders challenged Sidney Crosby's goal. They lost. The PK was good for once. The Islanders are still in the playoff race. Every team they're competing for the playoff spot lost except MTL. The Islanders need Ilya Sorokin on his game.
Everybody else needs to be on 🔥. Pierre Engvall gets the GW goal Hero, Kyle Palmieri, for starting the comeback. 🐐 The Linesmen for not knowing exactly what goaltender interference is. Bridgeport got off to a good start by beating Laval, lost to Belleville twice. HAPPY 🎂, ZEDANO CHIARRA. He had 2 stints with the Islanders. He scored his first NHL goal and an assist in a 4-4 tie against the then Phoenix Coyotes. Hear from you later, Gil, but before I came across an article on The NY Times site map. On 4/13/1977, the Islanders were playing in the Quarterfinal against 🦬. It was Game 2, and our boys spotted the Sabres a 2-0 lead, but then Al Arbour put out the checking of Garry Howatt, Bill McMillan, and Andre St. Laurent, and they hit everything that moved, especially Howatt who slammed Jim Schoenfeld into the boards with vengeance sending a message it worked. Bob Bourne scored the 1st goal, then Bryan Trottier played 🐈 and 🐁 with Don Edwards and tied the game up. Everybody came off the bench to way to go, kid. John Sterling, after he went into his ISLANDER GOAL, ISLANDERS GOAL, said something that was true. He's a baby in age (20), but he plays like he's been in the league for 5 years. Clark Gillies got the GW goal for the 3rd straight game, and Dave Lewis got an empty netter for a 4-2 win. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
The save Sorokin made on the 2 on 1 after Dobson's goal was huge. That's why he's there. The timing of that save was so important.
It's incredible that all of a sudden, we are the third-period Wiz Kids! Ilya Sorokin, as always, was a rock between the pipes. Pierre Engvall has been stepping up in a big way, and last night was no different. Seeing him elevate his game and contribute significantly to the team's success is exciting. And let's not forget Noah Dobson, who added another big goal. Here's hoping they can carry this momentum forward! I am really enjoying this recent stretch! LGI
Big game Thursday against MTL, win that one and the playoffs are a point or two away, LGI!!!!
First isles bday I got correct 😂
As a Rangers fan I say we are cooked I think Isles have better chance to make it thru
Im sorry gil i dont see the playoffs in our future i have faith that lou will make good decisions bc the fans are pissed after the deadline disaster
Gil, I think the team can win plenty of games with the current guys on the roster. They just need a couple of pieces to take the team to the next level. Youth with speed would be huge. Can you imagine how different the isles would look like with a Jack Hughes or a McDavid? They aren’t too far away, just need a spark.
Hope this builds up the team culture and sneaks them into the playoffs. Fixing that PK and finding this latest consistency will make it a great run Gil.
Good afternoon Gil. As I said in email, which I really enjoy swapping with you during games, where has this grit been all season? Dobson has scored twice in the past week but mostly has been absent offensively and continues to be a defensive liability. That pinch resulting in a 2:1 and that huge Sorokin save should never have happened. I still think he and many other players need to be moved for draft picks …. Engval is making me a believer this past week. The special teams remain an embarrassment
Somehow Sorokin has found his game and Engvall and Sippy and Gatcomb too have found their game as power forwards and Reilly is back, and even McClean is a bit better…that all have made a big difference, that and two straight teams have collapsed in the third period. This has been the weirdest year I can remember for the Isles with yet another goalie interference going against them and the weirdest puck bounces I've ever seen. It is important they stay in the race so the fans will come out and they are still building for the future and the fan base.
