This is the Winnipeg Jets. At the time this video is being made, they are undoubtedly the best team in the NHL based on points. When you look at their team top to bottom, their advanced stats & overall execution…They should be odds on favourite to win the stanley cup. But they’re not. They aren’t even in the top 5 for teams that are favoured to win the stanley cup. They are the best team & nobody cares. That’s because constant failures & shortcomings during playoffs have fans skeptical that they can actually translate into success. So – is the doubt right? Or is this team truly built to finally break through the hump. Well – let’s take a deeper look.

Unfortunately for Winnipeg, having this completely off the walls incredible team is just highlighting why the team was moved in the first place. How can there not be more excitement for this team? It's literally best case scenario and nobody cares. Winnipeg as a city is in a bit of a black hole in Canada. To far west for the majority of eastern centric media out of Toronto-Montreal. To far east for Calgary/Edmonton to care… and wayyyy to far east for BC Media coverage. Everyone I know who follows hockey agrees they are awesome, and actually a fun franchise to cheer for… but I don't know a single fan. I'm a Montreal home boy, but if I had to choose a number 2 Canadian team I would absolutely pick Winnipeg.
Would love to see them go further but they won 2 playoff games in the last 3 years so bookies are spot on

This version may well be different than in the past. They are basically the Canes with better goaltending. Unfortunately for them, they don't have any game-breakers which, when you're deep, maybe you don't need that but we've seen deep teams without superstars not be terribly effective in the playoffs. Also, that world-class goaltending has failed them in the past so there is going to be question until Helly proves he can be the same guy in the playoffs that he is in the regular season. It is entirely possible this team is a lot like the 2012 Kings even if they don't have a Kopitar or Doughty (although Morrissey seems to be a reasonable facsimile offensively at least) but with even more offensive pop. But they have to prove it come mid-April and that's why they aren't getting any love: they've been here before only to see their bubble burst. We'll see what happens.
The Jets have proven to be the dominant team in the West. The fact they get dismissed by Vegas betting lines only shows the obvious miscalculation of people who don't understand the sport or simplily people betting on the home team within larger markets.

Since you are basing your argument on having the most points, Washington can make the same argument. No one outside DC seems to recognize this. A great breakdown of their game which has worked well in regular season. This does not always translate to playoffs. The team that had the most points has won the Stanley Cup 8 times in the past 36 years. Does the best team win a presidents trophy or the Stanley Cup ?
