  1. Thank you Shannon. Regarding the Adam Foote trivia info, many people might also forget that both Marian Gaborik and Sergei Fedorov were both Blue Jackets as well lol.

In all seriousness, I am very optimistic regarding Don Waddell, Dean Evason and this years improvements. Playoffs or not, I see this year as a positive sign moving forward. Proud of the team and the year they've had.

  2. hey THG, it's possible to win without a superstar player on the roster the Blues did it I'm sure there's plenty of other examples but that's the most obvious recent one that comes to mind

  3. Say what you will of Rick Nash, but the highlight reel goal he scored against Phoenix all those years ago was a legendary moment.

  4. I feel for cbj fans, players, and the franchise. So much hurt and tragedy the last few yrs with devastating events around what are soposed to be celebrations. I want to see them succeed even more than i want my wild to succeed right now. They deserve happiness and success.

  5. Geoff Sanderson and David Vyborny forever. 💙🤍❤️

Edit: Because “Gilbert Brule and Alexandre Picard forever” said no one, ever. Thankfully the BJ’s improved their drafts, not just landing Nash w/ No. 1

  6. Thank you for covering today S. I also think a turning point is when we realized bob put his apartment up for sale on the market when he left for Florida. Idk what they’re missing

  7. you gotta cover the talks between the us and russia of the nhl/khl playing games and yet somehow the nhl is unaware and uninvolved? how would that even work? aren't they under strict contracts?

  8. Don’t underestimate an Ohio sports fan. Doesn’t matter what city. The love for the Browns, Reds, Cavs, Bengals and especially the Bluejackets is somehow still alive.

  9. Rick Nash shared the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy with Jarome Iginla and a third guy. Fantilli, Marchenko, and Kent Johnson have superstar potential at forward with Werenski as a superstar on the blue line. As for franchise leader in scoring, I say Werenski could hold that title since he already is the franchise leader in assists when he passed Nash last week.

  10. I'm just glad the Jackets finally seem to have a sense of stability. Only for a few years under Jarmo did the Jackets really have that

  11. Being a kid it was kind of awesome to see so many of these expansion teams rapidly pop up. RIP Thrashers, though it’s better to have the Jets.

  12. They remind me of the Hartford Whalers. The Whalers had some pretty good teams but never much more than that. I think the Whalers had one good playoff run where they almost made the Cup finals, but that was about it, and never really had a superstar player, except guys they traded away (Chris Pronger, Mark Howe). The Whalers were also kind of an ignored team. They are a lot more popular now (because of their uniforms) than they were when they actually existed.

  13. So I came to the team as a fan with Johnny from Calgary prior to the 2023 season. That year they had the most unbelievable run of injuries I have ever seen, and needless to say their 49 pts was rock bottom. But I have always been impressed with their prospect tank and I am a big believer you build a foundation from the draft and fill in holes from that. Since then last year their 57 pts was a modest improvement of 8 pts. This year, despite the obvious tragedy before the season, they have already improved 13 pts. I believe they are real close. I agree a top notch superstar is needed. Fantelli? Marchenko? Or maybe they can snatch a Mitch Marner. I think goaltending has been ok but not elite. But we are real close, great cap space situation. Maybe a bit better of 3rd and 4th line forwards. Growth on the way – Matychuk will get better. If Dumais at Cleveland can get going… But real close

  14. Thanks for the video! Great info, details, and insights! Lots of Cs in your grading system, not that they aren't deserved, especially given you aren't giving out Ds or Fs.

  15. As an Isles fan, I thought Everson was the perfect choice to coach this Team, I'm hoping they get hot quickly and make the Playoffs.

  16. I mean Florida and the blues were once in the same position but now both of them are pretty competitive teams with one Stanley cup each so far. So you just never know what can happen, and there’s still plenty of time to squeak out a play off spot.

  17. Sweeping Tampa in 2019 is one of the funniest moments in sports history and one of the biggest upsets: Tampa had a record-setting season, multiple players with individual awards and milestones and they LOSE to a team that hadn't won a playoff series in their existence.

  18. CBJ fan here
This team is tragic but the community built around the team is very strong, and thats what keeps me coming back. Honestly the biggest thing is we need to have something consistent and that never seems to happen….

I have a steve mason jersey and a customized third jersey lol

  19. I'm from Cleveland and I'm a Blue Jackets fan. The Columbus Blue Jackets feel like the Arizona Cardinals of the NHL, they never have done much, some good moments but a lot of mediocrity to suck with a smaller fan base outside of Ohio. Is it better to be the Cardinals or be like the Sabres who's NFL equivalent is similar to the Cleveland Browns, historically beloved but perpetually cursed?
    CBJ all the way!

  20. I absolutely loved it when they swept the Lightning!
It's unfortunate that playoff appearances have been so fleeting for this team. As you mention, the fans have tried to support this team. It's a good thing they have no competition within the market in the way of the NFL, NBA, etc. Otherwise, this team could've been the Atlanta Thrashers all over again.

  21. I think Jenner should have been stripped of the C after he came out and said nothing was wrong with the Babcock situation and it was all friendly when he was looking through players’ phones. As the captain he had an obligation to talk to his teammates and find out the truth before opening his trap to the media and making a public statement. Bad leadership 101.
