ITS TIME! im rooting for this kid maybe more than any other prospect. Lane hutson showed you can do it. Comon Lucca, bust your butt and make your dream a reality.
Cagnoni is our Boyle reincarnated
Subscribed! I am an Avs fan and am ecstatic about their win now moves but I am also intrigued about the long term team building of the Sharks with all of their prospects and draft picks.
New Boyler?
Crazy how being 5’9 is a knock on him, when you have players like Jared Spurgeon in Minnesota as a captain and one of the better defenseman in the league.
He needs a doctor's note that says he's not done growing
If Lane Hutson could manage to be great in the nhl. The Sky is limit for Cagnoni.
Once again a great episode! Loved it! You have been pumping up Cags since you first did a scouting report on him in his draft year. IMO, you should be the president of the Luca Cagnoni fan club!
And you taught me something new that I did not know. Cags was 5 foot 2 at his WHL draft year, wow! That is a lot of growth and learning to play at a severe disadvantage.
He parallels great to Graf as he also grew a lot both in height and weight. Overcoming physical disadvantages and excelling in their respective leagues. I love those two players as they have shown that not only can they rise above those disadvantages but also adapt as they grew bigger and stronger.
That is a lot of adjusting as they continued their hockey careers. They both proved the doubters dead wrong!
They learned to play a small mans game and matured it to fit their larger size and strength. Not to mention their skating, as both would have had to make major adjustments while still playing at a high level.
I will be glued like everyone else to watch how he plays and also am asking for a side by side shot with his new defensive partner Desharnais!
In the future though, I was thinking that Pohlkamp might make a good partner for him as he plays on the right side, has a very physical game and can keep up with him skating wise.
What a fun time to be a Sharks fan! Watching the development of Cags, Muk, Thrun, Graf, Smith, Asky, Eklund and Celebrini this season along with the additions of Kovalenko, Giles, Lilljegren, and Ostapchuk. GMMG has provided us with a lot to be interested in with a bright future.
And with the upcoming offseason with the cap space, the assets he has accumulated, more prospects on the way (Haltunnen, Lund, Havelid, Musty, Dickinson and Chernyshov all possibilities) and the draft as well, there will be no shortage of intrigue.
The future is soooo teal!
Just as an aside, North Eastern stuns Boston College and advances! Cameron starts the scoring off with his seventh career goal against Boston College. Yet another Sharks prospect killing it!
So much of his success is going to be determined by who he's paired with. He's going to need a defensive stalwart to skate with to overcome his diminutive stature.
I love this kid! …Big things come in SMALL packages!! Let's go LUCA!!!
Love this! And would love for him to crack the lineup for next year.
If he proves that to the FO this season do you see the sharks trading off from a D-man at the draft to move up? (Trading the stars pick + a D-man + something else to bring in lil Eklund?)
Twins photo a must! Love the commentary, I think *if* we get lucky lottery balls, and get Schaefer he probably goes back to the OHL (can he go NCAA? not really up on this CHL/NCAA relationship) only because Dickinson will only be 19 and CANNOT play in the AHL (I believe) and Schaefer missed most of this year in development after WJC (collarbone injury) I agree with the Smith "training wheels" (ease Dickinson into the NHL) and depending on who Grier/Holy & team target in the offseason as far as defensive veterans. Cags can prove a lot in a dozen games here to say I'm the future. p.s. the name you were looking for with Thrun is Jack Thompson from the family town of Courtice, Ontario!
If a 4th round pick makes it to the AHL I believe it’s a successful pick, to make it and dominate and be called up less than 3 years after your draft your something Special and should be viewed as a steal.
