I must apologize for doubting Binnington! He was lights out amazing! MVP , tbh.
Binnington deserves plenty of love for being clutch, but let's not pretend like the U.S. didn't have way better goaltending than Canada. In game 1 Expected Goals was 3 – 1.3 for Canada before the U.S.'s empty net goal. In game 2 Expected Goals going into OT was 3 to 1.5 for Canada before Binnington made the clutch saves. Without Hellebuyck Canada wins both of those games comfortably.
Binner was impressive.

It’s splitting hairs, but I’d put the Binnington glove save on Tkachuk as first and the one on Matthew’s second. It was impressive for sure, but that glove save is the one where I was 100% sure we were about to lose it and then we didn’t. That was incredible. The blocker was very impressive too, it’s just the fact that Binnington was sprawled out and looked like he wouldn’t even be able to make the save on the Tkachuk one that puts that one over the top for me.
2:18 nicest save of tourny. Canada passing was bang on, and the goalie goes left to right for the save.

A lot of the saves were ranked more on the situation than the save. I think Gustafson's was amazing but binningtons final save was in overtime of the last game.
