Shane Wright is one of the best prospects in the last 10 years. After being granted exceptional status to play in the OHL a year early at 15 years old, Wright matched the point total set by Connor McDavid (a former exceptional status player himself) for points in an OHL rookie season with 66, with 39 of those points being goals. This helped Wright, 15 years old, break the previous Kingston Frontenacs’ rookie record for goals (36) set by a then 18 year old Bernie Nicholls in 1979-1980. Wright’s play this year earned him the OHL Rookie of The Year award as well as the CHL Rookie of The Year award (OHL, WHL, QMJHL). As outstanding of a rookie season as Wright had, you have to wonder how many more milestones he could have accomplished had the season not been shortened by a few games due to the coronavirus. His play and determination is like a Giroux/Toes/Point that’s 3 really amazing mixes to have
He could grow a beard when he was 15! Just wait for the others to catch up. These hypes happens all to often…
A great chance this kid will better than mcdavid, he already is, statically proven. Broke mcdavids record at a younger age, less games and more goals. That play he did, where he won the draw and kicked it to his stick and scored by him self off of his own draw is unreal amazing and crosby or mcdavid wish they could pull of a move like that
