Overtime lasted a whole 4 seconds in Kraken’s 5-4 win over the Canadiens on March 12, as Brandon Montour broke the NHL record for the fastest goal in the extra period.
The goal also tied the record for the fasted goal to start any period.
Montour had two goals and two assists in Seattle’s comeback win.
Brandon signed with the Kraken in the off season after winning the Stanley Cup with the Panthers, and famously placing his one-year-old inside of it.
He has 15 goals and 21 assists with his new team so far.
Montour is of Mohawk descent and recently welcomed American Indian youth to an skate with him on the eve of the Kraken’s Indigenous Peoples Night.
Seattle’s win over Montreal also marked the first game for Finland’s Jani Nyman, who scored in his NHL debut.
