The NHL has suspended Florida Panther defensemen Aaron Ekblad for 20 games for violating the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program.

As a panther fan this is so embarrassing and I was advocating for replacing ekblad for a while he’s not bad but nowhere near reflects the money he is paid.(why we didn’t pay montour all he needed and got rid of ekblad… I couldn’t tell you) and not to mention he wears an A on his jersey… very disappointing. Idc how long you’ve been here there are many other people more deserving of an alt captain role than this, Yes I’m going to say it “traffic cone” (rhino more than deserves the A) other than that VAMOS GATOS 😸

Honestly I'm so tired of all of this moral grandstanding when it comes to PEDs. Not saying Jesse is specifically, I just mean the general public.
I wish it was allowed so it could be regulated safely and then everyone can make their choice.
There's substances that are dangerous and shouldn't be allowed, there's amounts and abuse of other substances that are dangerous, but there's plenty that is fine to use if you're being monitored.
The horrific injuries and the amount of injuries that can occure in some sports is wild. We're literally holding back athlete recovery and we're totally fine with them having the mobility of an 80year old and reduced quality of life by like 45-50 in retirement so we can feel better about them being "clean" or not?
I think Ekblad is wrong because he broke a rule other people follow. But I think the rules and the mentality behind them are more wrong. Also, the sports are better I care more about the recovery and quality of life in retirement.
Meanwhile the NFL and NBA pretend that they care and have specicic tests, on prescheduled days, the samd day every year. Just say it's allowed and regulate it instead of pretending to do something and letting players go wild behind the veil.

A dumb move by Ekblad, period! He should have consulted with Florida's team doctors, team medical staff, etc, to see if the substance that he decided to consume, DID NOT violate any NHL/NHLPA Programs?
This definitely calls the Panthers cup into question. No way this dude is using roids to "recover" that he supposedly thought was allowed and not talking with the staff. The whole team needs to be tested.
Forgot about Valentin Zykov, who was suspended in October 2019 after Schmidt. He only played 15 NHL games after the suspension, and eventually went to the KHL afterward.
Soooo many losers in this comment section wishing a longer suspension its a joke. These guys put their bodies on the line for our entertainment if anything they should be allowed more leniency to take stuff that will help them recover quickly.
Test them all! Any team that wins the cup should have to give a sample right after.

Glad I found this. Listening to Adam is difficult at best, and I wish his friends would take him aside and let him know – to make health a priority – putting on 50+ lbs in less than 2 years, something is wrong.
