This is a team that only leafs fans and media think were a cup contender. 5 guys that don't have the heart to go the extra mile to win. Set the fu king lines and keep them that way. Domi isn't a top 6 forward and is lucky if he should be in the playoff lineup.
knies-Matthews-Jarnkrok 2. McMann-JT-Marner 3. Robertson-Laughton-Nylander 4. Lorentz/patch-Kampf-Domi. Leafs lose first round, JT and Marner aren't brought back. Next priority is to trade Rielly, he is the worst #1 d-man of any playoff team every year.

Even before this losing streak, at no point did I ever think the Leafs would win in the playoffs. It’s the same core, same style of play; soft, weak , no killer instincts , compared to the style of play and structure of the teams that won the cup, leafs are not even close..
SOS. Same Old Sh*t. This season, there is no reason to expect anything other than the usual early playoff exit. Who of the 'core 4' shows any desire to take the team on his shoulders and drive the bus at a time like this. Mariner, tonight; I didn't even notice til 8 minutes into the 3rd. Wonderful player. If periphery players win you any prizes.
So, do I hang in til the bitter end. Or cut my losses as I did last year by checking out of their sh*t show, early? Seems like a very obvious choice.
First round exit? There is a good chance this team doesn't even make the playoffs let alone win a round. With Keefe a first round playoff exit was a garantee but atleast they played fun hockey to watch at times, this year every game is a horror show, even the wins.
Playoffs? Remember the 18 wheeler? Matthews can’t even hold on to his stick for crying out loud. Are these guys on drugs?

You can change the GM, coach, add depth players but it’s still the same President and core 5 players on this team and all have proven they’re incapable of winning when it matters. For the core 5 it’s all about the b$g and that’s it. 🤷🏽♂️ Teams that win in the playoffs aren’t full of snowflakes! And this team has far too many snowflakes

This is on Brendan Shanahan. The leadership group on this team are good guys that don’t cause any trouble. That’s great if you want one of them to mary your sister. They just don’t have that edge to them. They never did and never will. It’s not their fault, it’s just who they are. As long as they are the core nothing will change. Every player that comes in after them can’t take over and change the culture. It’s not theirs to change. The style that Berube is implementing can bring playoff success with most teams and does win cups. However dumping the puck in only works if you forecheck. The top players on this team do not like to do that. Other teams know there is no danger to get hit so they calmly get rid of the dump ins. However when a team like Florida dumps the puck in and forechecks they usually cause a turnover because they actually check. You need leaders like Doug Gilmour and Wendal Clark. Let Marner and Tavares take a walk and bring in guys like Sam Bennet. You can get away with maybe one skilled soft guy on a team, but when your top five guys and leaders are soft you will never be able to compete in playoffs type games.
Those core players definitely do not have heart and we have known since Montreal. I would try and trade Matthews this offseason and let Mitch and John walk. I’d rather be a non playoff team than watch these heartless entitled brats.
