They were awful. Mitch has been bad for about a week. Team was way too soft on pucks. Getting out hussled and out worked. Disorganized. Disinterested.
Goalie gave me freddy vibes. Good play, but make a save when its needed.
Against FLA i just thought they got beat by a better team. Tonite they totally beat themselves. At this rate, wouldnt be surprised if they got the 1st wild card spot.

It is not on the coach or the players. You 2 have been around long enough to know that the contracts negotiated by Dubas/Lamoriello/Treliving makes it impossible to ice a decent club when you're paying 4 dudes 54% of the cap. Shuffling lines is like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.The core four foundation is riddled with cracks and the house is about to fall in. Trade Matthews while he still commands value. And let tavares and marner go their own way. There is no fixing this group, not with their horrible cap situation, lack of depth, lack of draft picks. Reset now while the opportunity is still available(it should have been done last summer) otherwise it will be another decade in the valley, looking more like Pittsburgh than Florida

I’m a big fan of the Leafs. Hurts to see them lose. I suppose this is the problem with having a good chunk of your roster tied up in a few players. They get banged up and have nothing left for the tail end of the season and layoffs…

I said it after they lost to the Sharks 2 weeks ago. The Leafs are mid, a weak team without good goal tending. They’ve gotten worse when teams have improved. If they haven’t figured out how to be better by now the season is over. Predicted they would fall behind the bolts to 3rd place and out first round. Nothing has changed this year. Coaching is worse imho, and Shanahan needs to be fired.
I dont remember the year, but it was early 2000s. Sundin, Roberts era. They played so bad down the stretch that they fell all the way to 7th and made the playoffs by 1 point. They subsequently sweeped the 2nd place Sens.
Anything is possible, maybe they'll be terrible and flip a switch come playoff time🤷♂️

When Leafs fall behind in a game, I don't bother watching anymore. Don't think their star players really care what happens. Prefer to win, but if we lose oh well.. we're tired, blame the schedule etc etc. They're incredibly boring to watch, I wouldn't pay a nickel to watch these guys. Oh well, wait till next year. I have to find a team to root for…hmm.. Go Jets! lol

I don't think the Leafs have looked this bad, honestly, since 2015. This is pre-Matthews level hockey. Yes, they're getting wins here and there as there's real talent up and down the lineup, but I'm entirely apathetic towards this team and everything that's happening. My expectation is that they hang on to third in the division, get bounced in 6 games, and this thing gets blown up.
Leafs are cooked
As a life-long Leafs fan, I look at the C on Matthews' jersey, and I can't help but look down in embarrassment. This guy's play and body language do not instill any confidence in his ability to lead the team.
Maybe all it takes is to slide into the metro path. Started with a promising loss to caps years ago, culminating in the same path for the ultimate chance.
My gawd I can hardly wait for this season to be over. An early exit will result in Marner, Shanahan early exit. JT will take less or his early exit, Mo will be forced to waive and subsequently gone. CHANGE WILL COME!!! There are gamers out there like Sam Bennet if Florida doesn't give him a big contract.
Does Matthews have a no-trade clause? Get rid of him. Sign Marner and Tavares that are still producing. Marner can make anyone look good.

Let me laugh about this fact. Mitch Marner wants to be the highest paid winger in the league. Funny fact. If Toronto agrees to his demand and re-signs him, he would be the highest paid player to both not win the hart nor win the Stanley Cup. Heck they barely played the second round once in Marner's career, and he wants that much? It was a sellers market, even Rantanen was moved around. I love Marner but not 13-15M per season type of love.
