Sidney Crosby, the greatest player of this generation and a perennial winner for the sport. Crosby has inspired an entire generation of Hockey players with his career, and to this day continues playing at such a high level. In his 20th season Crosby and the Penguins find themselves in a tricky spot, not bad enough to fully rebuild but not good enough to compete. With Sid wanting to stay a Penguin for life and the Penguins lacking direction, could we have seen the last of postseason Crosby? Well today let’s breakdown Crosby’s career, the Penguins, and why this could be a sad ending to this hockey legends career. Subscribe to Jimmy Hockey for more NHL News and Breakdowns.

Crosby playing a game against the penguins just doesn’t compute in my head 😂
Not even a pens fan
Sidney Crosby has nothing LEFT to prove. He just showed us, at 37 years old he's still on top of the Hockey World. 4 Nations was a reminder of who's still holding the Heavyweight Belt. He's got so MUCH game left but better yet so MUCH love for the game left in him.
If Crosby wants to finish his career in Pittsburg then I hope we'll see him Captain the World Championship team in May.
He puts up 90 points in his late 30s and has been nominated for a selke. He’s fine.
Sid will retire in Pittsburgh no doubt. His number will be retired and his jersey will be hung in the rafters. He'll most likely suit up somewhere in Pens hockey operations after retiring from play then move up the ranks in the front office. He is the face of the franchise, an eternal fan favorite and you have to believe that his heart belongs to Pittsburgh. I have no doubt we'll be seeing Sid calling shots from the GM box during gameplay cutaways in the decades to come and, even though the Pens are a hated rival of my team, I know this beloved game of ours is better with Sid in it, on or off the ice.
My household are big big fans of Sidney Crosby. The Golden Goal kid.
Sad ending? The guys had an exemplary career and will go out on his own terms when he decides, theres nothing sad about it.
I hope he gets out of Pittsburgh for the remaining years of his career. I don’t want to see him rot right there.
Like to see Sid own the Pens or become GM
Not the "greatest" of the generation, "One of the greatest" because Ovi is there too.
If you read this and you aren't subscribed, you need to rethink your values in life.
Come to the Leafs Sid!!! Please 🥺
Doesn't help that Malkin is forever injured
AND!!! At the Four, he played injured, and set up Mackinnon, with a chef's kiss pass for Canada's first goal at the event. They who say he's not as good are insane, he lead us to that comeback win over the US. And knew how important, with the politically charged atmosphere, was to Canada. He was intense, did noone see his focus and intensity!?? Like give me a break.
Sad end? Sidney Crosby won EVRYTHING there is to win as a hockey player !!!!!

Alexander Ovechkin is the greatest player of our generation
crosby is probalu #2… but at least top 5….. (not a biased canadian opinion… but rather an impartial tkachuk loving american opinion lol)
You all fools; PITS is Crosby's TEAM. Long game he's management and possibly owner of the team.
Why is it sad? He has three cups, two playoff mvp's, hart trophies, he's going to be a first ballot hall of fame plus fairly high on the all time points list. He has more cups than Lemieux. Sometimes great players end up on teams on the down slope. What would be sad is if they traded him somewhere just to give him another shot, as if he hasn't won it already. It's worth more to everyone if he retires a Pen, since no one stays with the same team for their whole career anymore.
Crosby teams wont it all; but Ovi is the greatest player of this generation…
Trade him to Washington so he can play with ovie & finsh careers together
Crosby is preparing to end his career on a high note by assisting on MacDaddy's game-winning golden goal in OT at the 2026 games.
As a rangers fan Crosby could easily go to another team and get one more cup but yall gotta remember when he first started playing nhl hockey he was on the ice with mario lemieux and im sure that inspired him to remain a penguin if anyone doesn’t sit here and think the great Mario didn’t have an impact on It idk what did but it sure looks like he’s trying to have a legacy like him
The olympics is his last dance i think
its not a sad ending. there are so many sad things in life. this i not one of them. and he is loyal to his club.
I feel like he will only stop playing once he stops being effective in this level, which at this point seems like an eternity.
Whoever made this is a total idiot
"i need wins, i don't need friends"….one of the greatest quotes ever…i think Sid should demand a trade to a playoff contender and take another team to the cup and win it. Pittsburgh screwed him.
Sad says who this joker.
His career is not over. Look how a retool helped Washington, there is still a chance for another run but either way, the guy is top 5 all time
Pittsburgh also has 15 picks in the first 3 rounds
