  1. Sweeney can't draft to save his life, but boy, can that man wheel and deal. I've never seen a GM that could get so much return for his middling assets. It's a gift.

  2. marchand to florida…..you might as well of traded ray bourque to the montreal canadiens. i cant believe this.

  3. To the Avs? Are the B's trying to help hand the Cup to them? I mean, it's a good return, but wasn't trading Ray to them enough?

  4. I loved Charlies, but the team really needs consistent offense. We'll miss his backchecking and his effort when he's was on. Good Luck and Thanks Charlie! All the Best.

  5. All for this trade. Dollars are basically a wash, and you get a guy that like 6 years younger, plus some more assets. Unfortunately, the fact that the Jacobs let Sweeney make this many trades on deadline day means he is completely secure in his role, and likely will not be going anywhere.

  6. Not sure I have ever seen a sell off like this…maybe Charlie “O” trying to sell off the Oakland A’s in the 70’s

  7. Great return- I would have taken Casey alone, or the pick alone. Zellers may end up being the best part of this deal.

  8. Mittelstadt is a worse player, on a more expensive deal for longer term. Taking him back when you are rebuilding and not making the other team pay through the teeth for it sucks. This is a similar problem you had to the Ullmark situation and taking Korpisalo back. That was less bad because you did get some space in it. This move saw you lose cap space. Pretty rough. I don't understand the push to require selling Coyle and Carlo this season. They were having bad years and because of it they had lower value. They were both still under contract and could have been moved next year. Giving you a chance to build value back up. Frederick and Braz you had to move. You weren't bringing them back they were UFA's that makes total sense. Even moving Marchand if you couldn't come to terms on a deal makes sense. But moving Coyle and Carlo and not killing on either of those deals just seems dumb.
You got a prospect who put up a ton of goals in a not strong league, who's going to college and will likely need at least 3 years there and then a year or 2 in the AHL to be ready. So yeah…he's a decent prospect but he's 5 years out and you got what'll be a very late 2nd round pick so basically a 3rd. If they can package that with something maybe I'll change my mind but as it stands right now that's just another player who's going to be years and years away.
