Pure speculation, but I think Coyle and Carlo were probably problems in the clubhouse also. Coyle has a career year replacing Bergeron and gets demoted and replaced with a guy who sucks. Carlo always has his panties in a bunch if he’s not being coddled. And Marchand for all the reasons they said.
Maybe it's not that simple… Right now, there are no expectations: players can play free and loose. Also, now that there is a leadership vacuum, some players feel empowered to step-up. Maybe Marchand was a turd at time, but it's a different game when the pressure is off of you.

The cap is going up and paying a guy like Marchand 3x7mil isn’t really that ridiculous for a contender. He can still put up 60+ points in a full season.
So, they won 2 straight against good teams. They also won 2 straight after Monty was fired. Marchand wasn’t the problem. They got 16 left let’s see what happens.

Start of Marchand's career these guys, especially Felger, piled on Marchand. That was bad enough. Without him we never win a single Cup nevermind getting close to two more. Now at the end of Marchand's career they're trying to pile on him again. This has shades of Sox ownership going after Tito after he was gone. Total nonsense, transparent tabloid-esque crap. But that's why these guys are still on the radio. Just awful and shameless speculation for clicks and ad revenue. It's game 2 of a retooling, borderline full rebuild without their two best d-men. Felger keeps ragging on Paskrnak. Pastrnak is in the conversation of gifted offensive players in the NHL. in the past and now in the present a lot of gifted offensive players were not the best in their own end. 31 other General Managers would take Pastrnak.

In my opinion the Bruins wanted to hold on to the remaining 2011 guys so bad Bergy, Krecji, Marchand and meanwhile after Claude they were chasing they were chasing away coach after coach and evern Sacco didn't seem to have the locker room.. I wonder if there was politics going n in the locker room… the coach vs the legends who were left over from the 2011 team… now that Marchand is gone there is no more connection to the 2011 team and that should make the politics go away

Maybe it was the adrenaline kicking in these last two games? We just watched the Bruins play two games with 100% 💯- Effort for 60 minutes! Protecting one goal leads with time running out extra attacker and preserve the win. We just haven’t seen this in a long time. Three unanswered goals in the third. I hear a heart beat and let’s see what happens!

The problem was that the team went too big over the off season, and became slow.

There's one obvious Factor these guys are missing. January 30th Bruins announced Chara was coming into the franchise in the front office & mentor players.

All you have to do is look at that fight with Bennett and then look back to Chara highlights. Exact same technique holding his collar, keeping the player up staying balanced so he can pummel him
