This face off has fans FURIOUS

Brandon Montour cheated the system last night as he jumped the gun and scored the fastest goal in overtime history! and it was upheld! That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. Give it up to the Habs fans for being objective on this. Like people have said, if the puck didn’t fall where Montour anticipated and the Habs gained possession this ends up being a very quality 3 on 2 or 2 on 2 shot where the puck handler probably has no obstruction for a clear shot on the Kraken goal.

  2. Is there a rule on face offs that the wingers or D can't move before the puck drop? If so, only then they should of blown the whistle and re drop the puck. He moved before the puck hit the ice.

  3. His feet were perfect, the face off win was perfect-clearly a set play. 48 did not line up correctly-he spaced out and let Montour have a clean outside lane to the net. Everybody hypes 48, but the kid does not know or have the size and strength to play a physical game. He is sure fun to watch though. Often when I see him get caught out of position and really push to get back, I wonder about his skating . He rarely builds with a series of alternating cross overs, which the best skaters in the game use for dynamic acceleration.

  4. As a Devils fan id be perfectly fine if that had happened against us. It was a brilliant play and I loved all 4 seconds of it. Montreal shouldn't have lined up with all 3 players at center ice, had they dropped 1 back to start with it wouldn't have even been an issue

  5. Montour and Stephenson are recent cup winners, we’ll established top players. They set up a very simple play and executed perfectly. Hutson had a brain aneurism-not tying up his man at the line.

  6. The amount of grey area in nhl rules and yet people complain about this? Substitutions makes no sense, too many judgement calls for the refs. Playoff hockey should get its own rulebook because they don’t call it the same. Idk I think the rules need to be fine tuned a little because it’s so inconsistent

  7. My question is ehy the frick did the Habs have all 3 skaters face-off like that!
That was the clearest gimme-goal scenario you could go for

  8. Sorry That one is on Hutson because it was his guy. Think about it on every goal scored a guy or two makes a mistake. Great set play executed perfectly between Stephenson and Montour.

  9. I'm a Habs fan, and I think Mountour just outsmarted us. We looked like total Noobs (2 Habs rookies on that play), and its fine.

  10. I say its a good goal no questions!? Theres no rules saying he cant do what he did and really its kinda on the canadiens player next to him to be paying attention to what hes doing and get in his way or hold him in position and not allow him to get that kinda jump on the puck!!?? Montour was locked in and ready to go on the faceoff and Seattle clearly had a set play in mind and executed perfectly, and the Montreal player was kinda caught sleeping cuz he wasn't focused enough on the faceoff and containing his man!!?? I say great alert play by Montour and Seattle to catch Montreal sleeping on the faceoff!!??

  11. Congrats to them now they're only 6 games below 500, good shit seattle.

…..Ps yes i am saying this cause i am super duper peak mcdonalds fries salty

  12. If it's within the rules, I'm fine with that… But I better stop seeing refs obnoxiously delaying the game, taking forever to drop the puck because they argue with the players about their positioning at faceoffs

  13. There's nothing really controversial about this. It's just Marty's fault plain and simple. That's the most idiotic way to lineup in a 3-on-3 ever, especially given the context of who is on the ice

  14. i'm not usually one to pile on but I love how most of the comments here completely destroy the premise of the video analysis that somehow Seattle got away with something and "fans are furious". Classic.

  15. What do you expect from the worst ref-ing officials, NHL referees, in professional sports?
Montour was moving before the puck was even dropped and the refs should have blown the play dead!
The NHL has a MAJOR officiating problem but refuses to acknowledge it!

    my opinion 🦂

  16. I might be a leaf fan, but still call as I see it regardless of the call even against us. Lately been a few bad calls but on the fly at that to be expected here and there. You just hope goes in your favor. Same here beautiful set goal which montor got lucky it went to where he wanted the puck. If Montreal won draw would of been a 3 on 2 at worst with odd man jumping up to finish off the play. I
RATHER SEE ANY CANADIAN TEAM WIN OVER ANY STATES TEAM FOR DAMN SURE LOL

  17. Your content titles are getting pretty click baity.

While I’m at it, what does a west coast team have to do to get a little love for their play? The LA Kings just beat the best team in the entire league 3-0. Ovechkin was held to only 3 shots on goal and down 3-0 going into the third period, the Capitals were held to a mere 4 shots on goal. All of the NHL talking heads are such a bunch of east coast homers.

  18. this guy explanation shows you he doesn't get the situation you have to not move until the puck is touched then and only then you can move this is not football with a man in motion before the snap

  19. Back in the two-line pass days, the center-ice redline was an off-side line (for two line passes; players within the neutral zone could have been anywhere to receive a pass). You're right, the center-ice redline is no longer an off-side line as it relates to zone entry. For face-off alignment, all players must be on their side of the redline and outside of the circle. With all of that said, this play appears to be incredibly well timed and it seems that Montour stayed "on-side" the entire time. Looks like a good goal.

  20. Possible this will never be broken since the previous record was 6s and this was 2s less. Only six players were tied for that previous record. Last time anyone did it was Nylander in 2018. The others were: Sundin, Legwand, Ovechkin, Kempe and Athanasiou.

  21. I mean lets be real, the Habs player let his man get by him and beat him. Honestly, one player should play back on D on the faceoff to prevent this period.
