Unless Mathews turns it on in the playoffs, probably will need a few shots of medicine, I don’t have confidence in this team doing it.

Carlo and Laughton does not get the benefit of the doubt or the luxury to take their time to fit into the Leafs system. There are only handful games left and they have been awful haha. I can't believe Steve gave Brad credit on last Saturday's LFR. On top of that, Leafs fans are just as stupid to think it was a great trade. These two trades were terrible compared to their competitors. Stop being in denial and learn to evaluate talent properly. Matthews is a shell of himself. Marner and Tavares are only playing well during a contract year. Stolarz has been struggling. The only player who was consistent all year was Tanev, but he's injured. Leafs season is done

Don’t know how many times I’ve said and written this, but I still feel the one they should have let walk is Nylander. He’s good when he’s good, but he’s not consistent. He’s lazy defensively, he avoids corners if there’s any chance he’ll get hit, and he only seems to push himself offensively when he has a shot at a breakaway. I’d take Marner over Nylander all day long, but it’s too late, and now Marner may walk.
What if teams are playing 34 different this year cause he did get 69 goals .

This video was very entertaining! lol several times! I feel a little for you Leaf’s fans your team has a lot of talent who likes to run and score! Panthers were where you were 3 seasons ago! Panthers won the president’s trophy and during the regular season looked unstoppable! But they weren’t built playoff tough! That’s what the Leafs lack that the Panthers have perfected! Dump, chase, and check the sh*t out of the opposition! Gotta find the players that don’t mind to get dirty in the corners!

This was a statement game. It says they just not good enough . They didn't feel they could make any pressure until they were down 2 in the 3rd. The first two periods they just weren't there
Steve sounds like a guy that doesn't believe. And why should he. Why should he, after their playoff "runs". This team needs to prove the naysayers wrong, for once in their careers. And they are not doing that right now. And if Matthews keep this play, who… is gonna step up in the playoffs? It will be a miracle if this team wins a series, which is absolutely ridiculous after they've been leading the division for such a long time, but it's true.

The Leafs in general are not comfortable playing physical games! Mitchy and Willie become non-effective in their roles as elite scorers. When it matters the most the Leafs are flat. These 3 games against Florida, are measuring sticks on how well the team will do this coming playoffs. It is vital that the Leafs win the next 2 games against Florida! I fore-see upper-management and player roster changes, this off-season. GO LEAFS GO!!!!

I seen the same thing last night, I've see many many times with this team since they all came in the league together. Ya it was just one game, I get it. BUT its the exact same thing that has always plagued this team and in my opinion the reason this team fails in the playoffs. against heavier teams or hard forecheck teams they are easily intimidated. 50/50 battle in the offensive zone they constantly CHOOSE to be 2nd to the puck. Domi out there with a big hit, big hit, then I see half a dozen times other players afraid to go into a corner. Teams like Florida who go in straight lines. 50/50 races and battles they don't hit the brakes and allow the opponent to take the puck then try and get it off him. Leafs have players that will go the direct route, but too many that wont!!!
Marner and Travaris HAVE to get out of Toronto. They must know they’re going nowhere playing in Toronto.
They’re good players and should be on a contender team.

If the Leafs overpay JT again, no matter if they win OR get booted in 1st or 2nd rd, then this management group is pitiful with a low hockey IQ & no vision for a winning hockey culture. You sign him at a bargain or he can go too.
Do you not think it’s odd Tavares while captain appeared to be struggling points wise and performance while Matthews was killing it with goals and assists… then they switch and now Tavares’s is having a great year and seems to have come back to life while Matthews is struggling.
I understand that Matthews is not 100% but don’t you think that being the leafs captain and the stress it carries has effects on the players and their performance……????? Just thinking out loud…

Bobby McMann had a good game? Didn’t notice it at all. Along w Matthews & Marner being a non factor, I thought McMann & Knies didn’t play that hard or tough enough. They had 1 hit combined. Not good enough. I find 23 eases up on his hits a lot for some reason. Or gives up on play along the boards too early the last few games. Streaky player & he’s only 22, I get it. But does he need to be mad to hit hard? Or scoring a goal for his confidence & play to elevate? So interested in how he’ll evolve as a player w his skill & size. Could be thru the ceiling or just an above avg forward.
But 74 & 23 need to realize they will be the X Factor during playoffs. If they’re not playing hard w tenacious forechecking & chipping in with goals, then this team will be doomed. Early exit incoming.
