I have absolutely no idea why they lined up 3 wide on 3 v 3. Even seeing them line up I didn't understand it. Now I've said it before and got ridiculed but I'm sticking by it. Hutson is an absolute magician with the puck. He is the most offensive and skilled defenseman we have ever had. But he WILL hurt us when it matters. He does not have the size or speed to be dominant when it is needed. It's simple physics. At his size he cannot control the front of the net. I love the guy. But his defense is going to be a gaping hole in his game.
The future looks bright …!! My choice for 2C is Quinton Byfield …from L.A. ..!! Find a way to get him .!!
Montreal has taken a step forward. we were unsure what we had in Lane Hutson. He has been a great player. Laine has been better than I expected. Suzuki has bumped up a little bit from last year. Caufield has taken a big step forward. Slafkovsky is treading water , at least hasn't regressed. As you say Dach and newhook have basically washed. out.
I look for Reinbacher and Guhle with a full healthy season next year. As you say Demidov, Kapanen , Fowler, Beck Heinemen in the wings.
Probably best to miss the playoffs but that's all in their hands.
Still looking at anderson in the line up.
It's been luck and a very opportunistic year with a few players currently shooting at a % that is not sustainable.
We should remember that yeah we all love Hutson but this team picked him 62nd overall it's not like they were all over him as a great pick but luckily just like the Caufield pick most managers missed the boat.
So my predictions were Arber's brothers Hage was an easy pick since I saw al the pre draft talk and interview but I thought for sure they would pick Lane's brother Cole and imo he looked arguably like the best player at the WJC's but MTL management missed the boat.
This is a team that THOUGHT Dach was going to be THAT second line center a guy who Chicago dumped off EARLY at a young age so they obviously saw that he was NOT the guy yet MTL mangement were fooled.
So I am not seeing a sign we KNOW what we are doing I see like other teams on/off hoping to get lucky.Demidov was a no brainer I would have lost it if they didn't pick him but were habs fans really THAT certain our management team were going to pick him…I wasn't.

In September , with everyone healthy, I absolutely believed they could content for a playoff spot, but after laine and reinbarker got hurt, it became iffy, and then with their start it was more what top 5 pick they will get

Totally agree with marco, with Laine the pass to newhook was the most impressive, as a third line centre he would be great
Love the show when Especially when marco is on, would love to hear from u, who the habs should go and get as a second line centre,
The first line is still a product of bergevin except for Slafkovsky who could also be considered a bergevin product as bergevin is the one who finished last and that Cooley would have been a better pick , the habs have no depth and after having so many first rounders and so many picks for the passed 3 years and all they have to show for is demidov as a prospect outside the nhl that’s a Hugues product and he hasn’t scored in a month and a half
The habs won’t make the playoffs and they chose to give the ice time to guys who has no fu tur with the team instead of giving some prospects some ice time so they could evaluate them at an nhl level🤦♂🤦♂like why are they running with only one extra player and none right now due to injuries so they can win at an NHL level?🤦♂🤦♂
Nothing is gonna change this summer , Kent Hugues will waste picks on “maybe” or “projects” and next season we’ll be right back where we are , stuck with newhook as a number 2 , no offensive depth and prospects who struggle to make it as the habs have no talented vet on the 2nd , 3rd and 4th line to surround them , they’ll be around the same spot at the deadline and won’t trade matheson or Anderson or Laine as Hugues will tell us that he wants to reward his players by not trading anyone and that he talked to Suzuki who told him not to make trades 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
When I hear fans say, sign Marner , trade fo byfield ect ect . News flash ! None of these guys are coming to Montreal🤦♂🤦♂ Leafs fans are bias and delusional but some habs fans are just stupid and living in a fantasy world
The problem is ,Beck, dach and newhook are all going to battle for the 3c spot next season , Evans 4c and 2c is currently not on the team
