I'm sorry I've ref hockey games n that for me is extremely soft I got abuse n always let some slide cos being a player it heat of the moment if it was continuous then 100% agree but that was soft
The fact that his coach didn’t argue the misconduct call at that point in the game says it all. He either heard what was said or when repeated knew what was said crossed the line. Learning experience for Bedard to not be selfish and hurt his team.
I don't know what was said, but it's a blatant missed call by the ref. Refs literally have 1 job, and there are 2 of them. How did they not see that a guy is tripped?
He does not have a C or an A on his chest. He shouldn't be talking to ref's at all. Like it or not, that is a call they got right.
If y'all need to complain, then complain about the missed tripping call. Those that say, Abuse of an Official, is reserved for players that go hands on with a ref simply never read the rule.
His teammate nor the coach stood up for beddard witch means the kid probably crossed the line.. anyone saying this is "too much" or "harsh" probably only played house league and will never understand…
The ref shouldn’t have the ability to give a penalty for ANYTHING verbal. Literally nothing. If bettman was worth more than a McDouble he’d make sure this ref never reffed anything more serious than house league mites at an ice rink in a mall somewhere.
The refs are getting in there suck mode. This looked like bas and Rempe called for interference for doing nothing. When is the NHL going to do something about the referees?
This is why as a Blackhawks fan I believe the draft lottery was/is rigged for us. The refs have had their hands on every close game against other bottom teams this season as if they're trying to make sure the hawks finish either last or close enough to where they can win the lottery without it looking too suspicious. They have a top 10 PP, yet are bottom of the league in chances and have ahd several games this year without a single PP opportunity despite several blatant "must call" penalties being committed by the opposing team.
When the refs think they are the show. Time for them zebras to get punished for abuse of power. They're probably just butthurt cause their wives have the whistles at home.
when did the NHL start hiring DEI officials? these guys have been terrible over the past 10 years we do not need more snowflakes on the ice. try calling an honest game and stay out of the way of play
As a ref I would keep the abuse of officials call to physical alterations with refs (e.x. Hitting one when the linesman is inbetween the fights even by accident or bumping into a ref on purpose after a miss call). The refs chirp the players too they understand the lingo and all.
Anyone who watched Bedard play in the WHL knows all about his Golden Boy attitude. If refs didn't call what he wanted he would be slamming his stick onto the glass . I saw it 1st hand .

how dare a player complain about a blatant missed call by the ref
wtf did he even say?
Sorensen stick up for your players you fucking loser
The NHL is unwatchable. They have the worst officials, commentators, analysts, and worst of all they don’t protect their stars

Another example how far the NHL has gone down the toilet
Ref clearly took the under
Got him cause he was prolly butt hurt that a 19 year old was yelling at him

Reason #1298 why refs are overpaid and have too much power
Cupcake with stripes should officiate ping-pong

Did they borrow this softy from MLB? 🤭
Sports betting is great
Definitely didnt want Bedard on the ice for the final minites of the game. Therefore effecting the outcome of the game.
Good lol goofy fell then cries for a penalty 😂 what a dork
All you clowns against this kid…… weak
sometimes there is an emotional momentums in the game which is normal.
we cannot turn into the weak ass nba, terrible call
You hurt our feelings we must penalize you 😂
Soft ass refs. Never made it to the other side of the puck…and you never got over it.
F does Bédard suck lol. Complete waste of a draft pick. He’s better suited to play in the women’s league. He might be good there
Bédard is the worst 1st overall draft pick in the history of the NHL

refs feeling guilty
Good for Connor to calling them out
Classic case of the nhl’s weakest links being the weakest links. First they blow a call and then double down. Pathetic.

Yea let me make an absolutely shit non call and then put all accountability on you..
Refs are so weak minded. Soft. Sensitive. In other words.
Liberals.
Even our refs are getting soft now
If a single player hurt his feelings , he should uninstall every public app of his phone 😅
Selfish baby

How is that not tripping?
Refs are cowards
Bedard is the most over-rated human of 2025.
Bedard spits like a pussy
That ref would have had to retire to recover if Jim Schoenfeld told him "have another donut!".

Probably the worst penalty I have ever seen
