  1. Underwhelming for sure. Should of went all in. This was the year to do it. All I can hope now is we aren't forced to face the Avs round 1. GJG.

  2. Could the Jets not have gone directly to Nashville who seemed ripe for the picking instead of enriching the middle man with an overpay? Strange move.

  3. As long as there's provisions for a "no trade" to certain markets in the CBA, we'll likely see deadlines like this. GO JETS GO!

  4. …so shortsighted – are we the best team in the league? What was our weakest part of the team? Did we lack in the physical part of the playoffs recently? The Tanev point is such a joke, he was apart of the team when we went a series away from the Finals. This is why I can barely listened to you. I can keep going…do we think Helly won't be incredible in this years playoffs? Do we not put any faith in the lessons learned over the last few years? Why are you so against the Jets? Blah Blah Blah…you have no insight

  5. Tbh, I like the moves. You bring in grit and playoff experience. 2 strong players for the PK. Tanev we know already gets along great with Lowry and they have great chemistry on the ice. These are 2 strong moves. Believe it or not, the Jets are definitely stronger with these moves. Love Tanev and his speed. Both are great hitters!

  6. I thought it was a fantastic deadline. Great depth additions to the best team in the league. Love the chemistry of the group, and the additions will add to it. Luke is gonnna back up our captain for leadership, and tanev takes up a spot having chemistry with the captain

  7. I know everyone is upset, but the reality is we CAN'T just bring a big star in. They all have no move clauses, and nobody wants to come here. It doesn't matter if we are number 1 and have a chance to go far, or have the cap space, prospects, and picks to make it happen. Pretty much this is as good as we will ever be. We will never win a cup. With what the Avs and Dallas just added, we are toast. Another first and out. Unless the league decides to tackle no trade clauses (they wont, ever) Winnipeg will be black listed on every star players contracts.

  8. it's actually getting ridiculous how many propects were hoarding and just letting rot and not playing, just appears to me the goal of the franchise is to make sure they can squeak into the playoffs as much as possible to milk playoff revenue. winning the cup is not the main goal of the franchise

  9. Yeah I'm not buying the not coming to Winnipeg anymore. If you don't want a big game hunting okay fine. You're telling me that you couldn't go to Pittsburgh and let them package up Novak and Shem together. Novak is a Nelson light type player that's good on both ends and has played second line minutes honestly I I think it really comes down to Chevy. Not really liking the idea of doing transactions. He much prefers the draft. Here's an idea why don't we split the duties up? Come up with the position like director of NHL player transactions + let a grizzly vet that has teeth in the league come and do that? It'll be a lot better for the franchise

  10. I am glad you are very disappointed. All year there was nothing important in your posts only Jets need to trade, trade, trade. Hope the Jets go far and shut your mouth with constant trade talk.

  11. Boooooooooo jets are cooked… let them have there regular season fun then fizzle out 2nd rd… terrible Teade deadline…

  12. needed that 2c but im content with the moves. we added grit which was what was needed most. good luck stopping dallas tho when those 2 guuys come off ltir for game 1 lol. chevy shoudve gone bigger

  13. I wish we got Nelson or Brayden Schenn and Parayko, but Luke and Tanev are great physical guys, that's a need in the playoffs.

  14. THE JETS NEED TO TRY VILARDI AT 2ND LINE CENTER. Now that the Jets have failed to acquire a 2C, they need to try Vilardi there before the playoffs. The Jets aren't going deep in the playoffs with Namestnikov as their 2nd line center. Lowry looked good at 2C for a few games but he's an elite checking center that they need to keep at 3C. They need to balance the skill in their top 6. Vilardi is a natural center & played there several times in LA. Gabe isn't a one trick pony, but a lot of his goals happen in close out front. Playing him at C would put him where he usually ends up anyway, in the middle. Also, Gabe & Ehlers have shown great chemistry on the PP and when 55 had his wrist/hand issues Gabe also showed he's a decent faceoff man. So he could be the right fit between 91 & 27. I believe Niederreiter would be the best fit at 1st line RW. His skill is very underrated & he's tough & battles hard in all the hard areas, including in front of the net, where Gabe usually ends up. Nino would also add much needed defensive presence to the top line. Any one of Iafallo, Tanev or Namestnikov can fill Nino's 3rd line spot. I have to believe when Chevy traded Dubois, who was finally their 2nd line center solution (before he flaked out) that Gabe was the piece acquired to re-fill that role. I can't say playing Vilardi at 2nd C is a guaranteed win, but for the Jets to not even have tried this idea the last 2 years is foolish. With Ehlers & Pionk pending UFA's, this may be the Jets best chance at a cup. And now that the opportunity to grab a rental has passed, the Jets need to solve their 2C issue in house, within the organization. And the time to try this idea is NOW!

  15. gustafsson is better than tanev? Yeah okay dude, i get we didn't make any "huge" moves, but why gamble on players that don't want to stay in Winnipeg, when you can acquire a guy that has chemistry with this team already, and plays harder than probably anyone on the jets . Jets have been at the top all season, just let the boys prove the haters wrong

  16. It was 'meh' at best. I'm not nearly as negative about the additions as you seem to be, but I get it. When you look at the big moves everyone else made around them, these playoffs just got a whole lot more difficult!

  17. Dallas got hosed by Carolina, IMO. Stankoven, 2 firsts and 2 thirds.. WOW. If Rantanan isn't a 100 point scorer on Dallas, they will feel this trade for many years.
The steal of the day was Marchand for a second. A great pickup.
As far as the Jets go … they are the 2nd best offensive team and best defensive team, with the best goalie in the league. Adding Tanav will improve the PK. Take a breath.

  18. Really happy Luke Schenn perfect fit and It be nice story Brayden gets aquired for 2C this summer and can retire Jets together 2 Sask boys.

Idk where tanev fits 4th line with Kupari and Iafallo and can move up if a guys not playing well like Perfetti or injury

  19. Go ahead and sob, but don't make a video while you're still wiping your tears. Tanev wasn't signed 10 years ago, at least get that right. He's decidedly better than Kupari, Gustafsson, and Barron, so he has a clear spot in the lineup. He's not the flash that we wanted, but he is a good add. Talk about the high prices across the league, talk about missing a 2C, but be honest. Tanev is good for this team.

"The jets took a step back" stfu

  20. Apparently the Jets tried to aquire both Schenn and Nelson but the Islanders said no to the trade because Nelson doesn’t wanna play for a canadian team and Schenn also said no because he’d rather play in St.Louis

  21. Schenn was an okay pick up for depth and grit on the dline. But however nothing against tanev but he’s not the same guy and he doesn’t move the needle close to a Stanley cup. I agreed they failed getting a legit C2 with size and skill. Moving 17 to C2 in the playoffs leaves a huge hole on the 3rd. Bottom 6 has no scoring punch. The fact this is the best jets team Chevy DIDN’T go all in. I’m scratching my head last year the jets were spiraling downwards and chevy went all in

  22. Chevy did the best he can since no players want to sign here.

And throughout Winnipeg’s history the “big splashes” don’t work out (Hayes, Toffoli)

  23. Why couldn’t the Jets make moves earlier in the year? Pretty much every other GM made moves at some point before TDL day. Stocking all your chips for this day has historically been futile. M Pettersson, C Fowler were some D moved that could have made an impact in the 3rd pair. We can’t make moves in FA day either and drafting quite honestly has been poor for quite sometime. So we must be good at developing right? Nope- Lambert is languishing now playing on the wing on a really bad Moose team that tons if vet players left last summer. Oh but Chevy is amazing…
