Tank Talk: Thomas Bordeleau

Thomas Bordeleau sits down with Brodie Brazil to talk about his current season playing for the San Jose Barracuda, his development, and a bit about his time living in Switzerland.

  1. Grier should move his rights this off-season so Bordeleau can get a another shot at the NHL. The direction of the sharks is obviously size and Bordeleau doesn't have that. For a smaller guy he's also not a great skater nor is he overly aggressive. I don't see him cracking the top six anytime soon and he lacks the sandpaper the bottom six requires.

  2. Hey Brodie,
Thanks for this. I have never really heard Thomas talk and it was a great conversation. Switzerland? Wow! I really like Thomas and after last season I thought he had made the case sufficiently but, for whatever reason he is still working for a full shot. I do agree that when this season ends a conversation needs to happen (and probablydoes I would guess?) with the Sharks about their plans for Thomas. He is a seasoned and ready pro. I know he is not a big guy and I know he is not blazingly fast or in posession of McDavidesque offensive talent but, Thomas is a very good player.

  3. I'm a big fan of Bordy. I believe he can be a 2C in this league as a ceiling. I don't like how he said "I expected a call up after my injury" (knowing Grier, I think) he needs to be realistic with his expectations and appreciate that the NHL (a pro league) the opportunity given is an earned gift, not entitled (like the time of year/birthday/Christmas) does that make sense attitude wise? When you realize, most of life is not of your own choosing and the actions of others, control your reactions to bad news, cherish the good news.. it will take other people to believe in him, and not just his own self-determination. Life is not up to us (becoming an old soul here), its up to the others around us. A team. I think his quiet confidence can come across as smug.. but I believe this guy is a good kid, albeit quiet/reserved but a good person from the outside looking in. He's just gotta eat humble pie with grace and he'll get his opportunity to shine.

  4. I know you always have been doing them there but why the heck did I just realize that you are in tech cu
