He won them a cup, wanted to stay with them and has said nothing negative about the team or the management even when things went as they did. He should get the homecoming of a hero he is to that club.

After this game, yes. Give him his flowers as a thank you for this first game, but after that boo him. He signed the same deal the Avs gave him with the Stars. That's pretty messed up
We never boo'd Forsberg when he left on his own terms. Forsberg and Mikko gave us Cups and we revere Forsberg as a God here in Colorado. Every time he makes a visit to Denver, he is cheered even more than Sakic or Roy EVER WAS.

My biggest problem with the whole situation is he’s telling the media “I would’ve signed a hometown deal” but then signs in Dallas for .25 million more per year seems to me like he wanted to be greedy and ended up finding out he wasn’t worth what he and his agent thought good job by avs management to see through it and get rid of him I hate to see him go but we would not have the depth we have now without flipping him

The real bad guy here appears to be the Avs GM because he did not pass the choice to Rantanen. If they wanted him to stay, they would have simply said "this is your salary or you're out, what's your choice". They did not let Mikko choose, they did not want him to stay, it is blatantly obvious.

Absolutely stupid. Why would you boo Miko? He played, fulfilled his contractual obligation and loved playing in CO. Fans who boo are imbeciles and we should probably boo and taunt them while they are at work. Cheer the man! Show some class.
The Avs traded Miko. They made their own bed plus the Avs REFUSED to give them negotiating rights as a condition of the trade. Your team not only did not do their due diligence, they hamstrung the Hurricanes. They hamstrung Mikko. They set up how he ended up in Dallas. No one wins in this situation except Jim Nill, Mikko who took less money, and The Stars. The Avs set up a top 6 forward to come to Dallas for a rookie and draft picks. By the way, Mikko's agent is the same agent for Johnston, Harley, and several other Stars. Each case is different. For reference, Jim Nill believes this agent is a reasonable, down to Earth person to looking for a superstar to take a haircut heading into free agency isn't how the world operates…
